Abstract

1,060,494. Valves. E. N. CONTRACTOR. Nov. 11, 1963, No. 44385/63. Heading F2V. A tap comprises a cylindrical body member B having a threaded inlet at one end and an outlet O at approximately midway along its length. A seating R is formed in or mounted in the body and co-operates with a closure comprising a washer W in a cupshaped member S. The washer is secured to the valve spindle H by a plate P and cotter pin C. The spindle extends through a plug G threaded into the body and a handle is attached to the spindle. The spindle may be screwed into the plug G or may be provided with a pin D engaging in diametrically opposite inverted T-shaped or F-shaped slots. The seating R is relieved at the outer periphery to allow the cup-shaped member to be lowered around the washer when the valve is closed.
