Abstract

1,181,658. Valves. UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY. 11 July, 1967 [13 April, 1966], No. 16123/66. Heading F2V. A valve has a closure member 16 movable into and out of engagement with a valve seat 13 by rotation of a nut 23 on a threaded non- rotatable stem 18, a bellows 19 sealing the closure member to the housing and conical spring washers 27 interposed between an abutment 28 and one side of the nut to yield on tightening of the closure member on the seat. The valve is used to control the flow of liquid sodium and is preheated by a resistance net 17.
