1424626 Valves HEPWORTH PLASTICS Ltd 13 June 1973 28137/73 Heading F2V In a tap, preferably of the type wherein the valve member 17 moves between its open and closed positions by rotating the handle 13 through substantially 90 degrees, the valve member is arranged so that normal liquid pressure urges it towards the valve seat. Moreover, the valve member is screwed at 12 into a sleeve 9 provided with the valve seat, and the sleeve 9 is screwed into the tap body 1 via a thread of opposite hand to the thread 12. The thread on a nut 19 holding the washer 18 in place, is also of opposite hand to the thread 12.
