Abstract

1339172 Valves PEGLERS Ltd 19 Nov 1971 [5 Jan 1971] 491/71 Addition to 1101887 Heading F2V An improvement of the invention claimed in Specification 1,101,887 of a water tap assembly including a pillar type tap and a valve unit connected to the pillar at the end remote from the tap body, said valve unit including a selfclosing obturating valve member and provided with an actuating spindle which can extend through the tap body for unseating said valve member, the improvement being the provision of damping means fitted in the wall of the valve unit so as to be readily accessible for adjustment to retard the closing movement of the valve member. The damping means comprises a screw-threaded tapered needler 52 which restricts the bore 50 and is mounted in a carrier 54 which in turn is screw-threaded in a bore 56 in the wall of the valve unit.
