Abstract

991,410. Valves. L. H. VICKERS. Sept. 29, 1961 [Nov. 25, 1960], No. 40679/60. Heading F2V. A valve comprises a body having a substantially axial inlet 64 and axially spaced outlets 69, 70 arranged in a cylindrical body portion. A valve closure member 65 is movable to and from its seat by a rotatable axiallymovable spindle 66 which has a cylindrical portion 75 which successively opens and closes the ports 69, 70. The valve may be used to control the flow of water to an electric water heater as described in Specification 991,409, when the valve is formed with a hexagonal body portion 62 and is mounted on the heater by a nut 63 screwed on to the valve body.
