Abstract
1,044,262. Exhaust silencers for gas turbines. JUNKERS & CO. G.m.b.H. Jan. 17, 1964 [Jan. 21, 1963], No. 2106/64. Headings FIB and F1L. An exhaust silencer for a burner with pulsating combustion comprises a container 15 with a central partition 16 divided by baffles 18 into two sinuous passages 28, 29, the exhaust gases flowing from the first passage 28 through an outlet 31 into a compartment 12<SP>1</SP>on one side of the partition, then into the second sinouous passage 29 and out through an opening 33 into a second compartment 12<SP>11</SP>which is connected to the exhaust pipe. The silencer is connected to a burner 10 with pulsating combustion, the outlet 11forming with the passage 28 a resonant pipe tunnel, e.g. to a length of half the wavelength of the combustion pulses. The outlet. 31 leads to a chamber 37 at the top of chamber 12<SP>1</SP> which is connected through a perforated pipe 35 to a chamber 38 at the other end, the space around the pipe 35 being filled with soundabsorbing material 41. The chamber 12<SP>11</SP> similarly has a perforated pipe 36 surmounted by sound-absorbing material.
