Abstract

Combustion engine exhaust silencer of the type with a closed container or exhaust dish and at least two pipes which extend in the exhaust dish, have perforations and are set up such that the exhaust gases flow through them one after the other. A return-or deflector pipe lies outside the exhaust dish and at least a fraction of the exhaust gas through-put passes through this. In addition, this return-or deflector pipe connects the outlet end of a feed pipe with the inlet end of an outlet pipe. The two pipes for the inlet and take-off pass through the casing or exhaust dish from one side to the other and the outer return pipe is connected directly between the outlet end of the inlet pipe and the inlet end of the outlet pipe.
