Abstract

1,120,611. Treating exhaust gases. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. Nov. 19, 1965 [Sept. 14, 1964], No. 37458/64. Heading F1B. Exhaust gases entering an outer casing 10 through inlets 12-15 flow to a combustion chamber 18 through passages 20a connected to tube 21 leading into the chamber 18, the combustion products flowing from chamber 18 to outlet 22 through passages 20b alternating with the passages 20a. Air for combustion enters through a tube 26. The passages 20a, 20b are defined by a corrugated member 20, Fig. 2 arranged between tubes 21, 24. The pipes 12, 13, have overlapping ends within the chamber which are perforated. The lengths of the pipes 12 ... 15, including their portions outside the casing 10, are made the same.
