An exhaust gas after-burner comprises an outer air jacket 17, surrounding an exhaust passage 10 which itself surrounds a combustion chamber 19, the exhaust gases flowing around chamber 19 and through lateral passages 25 into a tube 24 in which they are mixed with air from the jacket 17 flowing through a tube 24, the mixed gases flowing into the combustion zone 70 and, after ignition by a plug 22, flowing around tube 23 to the outlet 15. The passage 10 is supported on the chamber 19 by a corrugated strip 21 and the air enters jacket 17 through an inlet 18.
