Abstract

Un procedimiento para preparar un hierro colado mejorado especialmente adecuado para lingoteras, cuyo procedimiento comprende las operaciones de fundir en un horno hierro, ferrosilicio, manganeso metálico y un compuesto de FeP, inocular luego en tal masa fundida un compuesto de Mg a fin de obtener grafito nodular, y verter seguidamente la masa fundida en una lingotera, añadiéndose las cantidades de dichas materias primas y dicho compuesto de Mg de tal manera que el hierro colado obtenido ofrezca un análisis de 3,7 a 4,0% de C, no más de 1,6% de Si, 0,40 a 0,80% de Mn, 0,010 a 0,045% de P, no más de 0,010% de S, 0,020, -0,050% de Mg, y el resto Fe con impurezas que aparecen normalmente, estando dichos elementos equilibrados frente a un equivalente de carbono en el intervalo de 3,2 a 3,6%, calculado como Ceqv = % de C + 0,65% de Si + 0,35% de P - 35% de Mg, conteniendo la estructura carburo en una cantidad no mayor del 5% en volumen, ferrita en una cantidad no mayor de 25% en volumen, grafitoesferoidal en una cantidad dominante, preferiblemente al menos 2/3 del volumen del grafito total y el resto perlita.
