Abstract

CONSTITUTION: A graphite spheroidizing agent which contains by %, 20W70 Si, 0.01W3.0 Al, 0.5W4.0 Mg, ≤2.0 Ca, ≤1.5 rare earth elements and the balance Fe, wherein ≤0.4 Ca/Mg, and 1/8W1/2 rare earth elements/Mg. Here, excessive Mg results in intensified reaction, accelerated formation of MgO, lowered yield at which Mg stays in the cast iron, intervention of MgO, accelerated formation of chill and degraded quality. Excessive Ca results in oversuppressed reaction of Mg, and nonuniform spheridal reaction. Excessive rare earth elements accelerates the formation of chill. It is important that Ca/Mg and rare earth elements/Mg are decreased considerably as mentioned above.
