Heat resistant, nodular graphite, cast iron comprises: - C 2À8 - 3À8% Mn 0À2 - 1À5% Si 3À5 - 5% V 0À7 - 2% P less than 0À1% and S less than 0À025%, the balance, apart from impurities, such as residual nodularizing agent (e.g. Mg), being Fe. Excess carbides are present in the form of randomly distributed, cubical shapes in a pearlitic matrix.
