Abstract

1,258,824. Producing grey iron; alloys. CENTRE DE RECHERCHES SCIENTIFIQUES ET TECHNIQUES DE L'INDUSTRIE DES FABRICATIONS METALLIQUES. Feb.11, 1969 [Feb.13, 1968], No. 7347/69. Headings C7A and C7D. After inoculation with at least 0À3% of an alloy containing an active inoculant selected from calcium, barium and strontium the iron consists essentially of 1-3% Al, 2-4% C, up to 1% Si, balance Fe. It may also contain up to 0À7% Mn, up to 0‹05% S, up to 0À1% P, up to 6% Cu, up to 12% Ni, up to 5% Cr, up to 2% Mo and/or up to 1% Zr. The inoculant alloy may be of Fe-Al-Ca containing 20% Ca.
