Abstract
1350693 Titanium base alloys REACTIVE METALS Inc 5 May 1971 [5 May 1970] 13389/71 Heading C7A Alloys containing 70-97% Ti have their grain size reduced and spangled surfaces on macro etched sections eliminated, by addition thereto of 0À03-4% Y and the consequent loss of tensile properties is compensated for by raising the oxygen and/or nitrogen content of the alloy above the normal level present in the base alloy by 0À01-0À06% of the alloy for oxygen and/or by 0À01-0À03% for nitrogen. Exemplary alloys contain varying amounts of one or more of Al, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mo, Sn and V and it is stated that Zr or other normal alloying elements for Ti may also be included.
