Abstract

1337937 Superplastic zinc aluminium alloys CENTRE DE RECHERCHES METALLURGIQUESCENTRUM VOOR RESEARCH IN DE METALLURGIE 3 July 1972 [2 July 1971] 31092/72 Heading C7A An alloy which exhibits superplasticity and which has a greater creep strength than other common superplasticity exhibiting ZN-Al alloys contains 19 to 24% Al; Cu up to 1% and/or Mg from 0.02 to 0.1%; Cr from 0.001 to 0. 5% and/or Li from 0.001 to 0. 5% and 1 or Zr from 0.001 to 1% and Zn and normal impurities, being the balance. The alloy may contain subject to several conditions, one or more of the elements Mn, Mo, Co, Ni, V and Ti. The alloy may also contain Be and one or more rare earth metal, the total content of lithium, if present, beryllium, and rare earth metal(s) being less than 0.5%.
