Abstract

1,273,261. Aluminium alloy. BRITISH ALUMINIUM CO. Ltd. May 5, 1970 [Feb. 18, 1969], No.8772/69. Heading C7A. An aluminium base alloy consists of:- Cu 1À5-3% Mg 0À5-1À5% Fe 0-0À1% Mn 0-0À5% Si 0-0À7% Ti 0-0À2% and Zr 0-0À4%, the balance, apart from impurities, being Al. The alloy may be homogenized at 500-590‹ C. for up to 24 hours, hot rolled, inter annealed in one or more stages at 350-500‹ C., solution treated at 400-550‹ C., air cooled and aged at 160-200‹ C. for up to 12 hours.
