Abstract

1,225,721. Ni-Cu alloys. HENRY WIGGIN & CO. Ltd. March 14, 1969 [March 25, 1968], No. 13668/69. Heading C7A. An age hardenable alloy consists of: - Ni 63-70% Al 2À5-3À5% C 0À03-0À1% and Ti 0À1-0À5% the balance, apart from incidental elements such as: - Fe up to 2% Mn up to 1À5% and Si up to 0À5% and impurities such as: - B up to 0À01% P up to 0À02% and S up to 0À01% being copper. The alloy may be solution treated at 730-760‹C. and then aged at 593-690‹C. followed by slow cooling (e. g. at a rate of 14‹ C. / hour or less), to 480‹ C. Alternatively ageing may be by isothermal treatments at 620‹ C. , 565‹C. and 510‹C. successively for up to 8 hours at each temperature.
