Abstract
1320271 Aluminium base alloy UNITED KINGDOM ATOMIC ENERGY AUTHORITY 28 Jan 1972 [29 Jan 1971] 3437/71 Heading C7A An aluminium base alloy comprises:- Cu 3À5-5% Mg 0À2-1% Mn 0À3-1À5% Si 0À5-1% and Ag 0À1-1%, the balance apart from impurities, of which Fe must not exceed 0À7% and B, Be, Cd, Ge, Si, Ti, V and Zr do not exceed 0À5% each a 1% in total, being Al. The alloy may be conventionally heat treated by solution treatment at 500‹C., water quenching and ageing at 160‹C. Soaking at 70-150‹C. without applied stress is also found to improve properties of the alloy.
