Abstract

A copper base alloy comprises .Be.1.9 - 2.1% .Co.1 - 2% the balance, apart from incidental impurities (e.g. Si, Mg, Al, Fe, V and Ti in amounts of up to 0.5%), being copper. The alloy may be solution treated at 780 DEG - 800 DEG C. quenched (e.g. in water and aged at 290 DEG - 370 DEG C.
