Abstract

A copper alloy has the following percentage composition .Ni.more than 15 and up to 32 .Al.more than 0.5 and less than 5 .Mn.more than 3 and less than 10 .Fe.0.2-3 .Cu.the remainder The Al content and the Mn content must not exceed one-sixth of the Ni content and one-half of the Ni content respectively. The alloy may also contain 0.2-3% of Nb and/or Si and may be hot worked at 1000-1050 DEG C., solution treated at 750-1050 DEG C., cold worked if required and aged at 350-650 DEG C.
