Abstract
1320775 Nickel base alloy CABOT CORP 22 June 1970 [20 June 1969] 30108/70 Heading C7A Nickel base alloy comprises: the balance, apart from impurities, such as:- being Ni and a microstructure containing a Ni 3 (Nb, Ta, V) phase and a (Nb, Ta, V)C phase the latter phase being dispersed as fine particles less than 250A in size and co-precipitated with the former phase in addition to primary (Nb, Ta, V)C particles no greater than 5Á in size. The microstructure may be provided by solution treating the alloy at 2250-2300‹F., quenching it, cold working, solution treating at 2250-2300‹F., quenching and ageing at 1100- 1450‹F. The cold working, solution treating and quenching steps may be repeated one or more times prior to the ageing step.
