Abstract
1344250 Aluminium alloys OLIN CORP 31 Dec 1970 [25 Feb 1970] 37661/73 Divided out of 1344248 Heading C7A A hot worked aluminium-base alloy has a composition, by wt per cent, and optionally Al the balance apart from impurities, the total of Mg, Si, Cr, Zr and Mn being 1.410- 1À722. The impurities may be Fe up to 0À6, Cu up to 0À3, Zr up to 0À5, B up to 0À008, other element up to 0À1 each and up to 0À5 in total. The alloys may be hot worked to a finishing temperature in excess of 850‹ F, quenched at a cooling rate of 1, 000 to 10, 000‹ F per minute to 350‹ F or below and aged at 200-410‹ F for “ to 24 hours. Homogenizing may precede hot working and quenching may be followed by cold working up to 5%. Specification 1344249 is referred to.
