Abstract
1358055 Copper base alloy LANGLEY ALLOYS Ltd 18 Dec 1972 [22 Sept 1971] 44226/71 Heading C7A Copper base alloys comprises:- with an optional addition of Mn 0À05-0À5%, the balance being Cu and the ratio %Ni/%Si being from 4 to 6. The molten alloy may be cast at 1150‹-1200‹C, the billet reheated to 900- 1000‹C, hot worked by forging, rolling or extrusion and then quenched in air, oil or water. The alloy may then be precipitation hardened at 400‹-600‹C for 4-6 hours with an optical pre-treatment by heating at 850‹-1000‹C for 30-60 mins followed by air, oil or water quenching or by cold working when the maximum precipitation temperature is 500‹C.
