Abstract

1,272,117. Heat-treated zinc base alloy. NORANDA COPPER MILLS Ltd. Sept.18, 1969 [Sept. 24, 1968], No.46170/69. Heading C7A. An alloy comprising:- Al 18-30% Cu 0-3% Si 0-0À1% and Mg 0-0À1%, the balance, apart from impurities being Zn, is wrought (e.g. by rolling or extrusion), is heated to between the eutectoid and solidus temperatures and then slow cooled at no more than 2‹C. /min (e.g. 1-2‹C. /min) to below the eutectoid temperature. The cooled alloy may optionally be cold worked (e.g. by rolling or drawing) after the cooling step.
