An alloy steel comprises:- C 0À01-0À06% Cr 11-13% Ni 3À7-10% Cu 0-5% Mn up to 0À5% Nb up to 0À25% N up to 0À025% P up to 0À03% Si up to 0À4% S up to 0À02% and Ti up to 0À15% the balance being Fe. The steel may be solution treated at 1900‹F. oil quenched, aged at 1100‹F. and air cooled.
