Abstract
1,247,567. Steel articles. SCHOELLERBLECKMANN STAHLWERKE A. G. Dec. 2, 1969 [Dec. 2, 1968], No. 58910/69. Heading C7A. Drill stems and rod sections are made from a steel comprising: - C up to 0À07% Cr 20-25% Ni 10-15% N 0À05-0À5% Mn 0À5-2% and Si up to 1% the balance, apart from impurities, being Fe. The drill parts may be made by forging at 1150-800C., air cooling, annealing at 1050 C., water quenching and then cold working, preferably with a greater reduction at the ends than in the middle of the stem or rod.
