Abstract
1,268,798. Heat-treating steel. NIPPON KOKAN K. K. Nov. 18, 1969 [Nov.22, 1968], No.56258/69. Heading C7A. Steel is hot worked in the austenitic state after which it is cooled to such a temperature in the range 500‹ -700‹ C. that 50-90% of the austenite is transformed; it is then reheated above Ac 3 for reaustenitisation and cooled to produce a structure which is about 90% ferrite-pearlite. Cooling may be by air in either or both cases. The steel may contain C 0À05 - 0À25% Si les than 1% Mn 0À4 - 1À5% possibly with one or more of the following additions; Ni, Cr, Cu less than 0À5% each Mo, W less than 0À3% each Nb, V, Ti, Zr, Al less than 0À15% each
