Abstract

1,264,587. Cobalt based alloy. UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN REGENTS OF. March 5, 1970 [March 12, 1969], No.10684/70. Heading C7A. An alloy comprises by weight per cent: Cr 20-28 Ni 10-20 Mo (+ W if present) 3À7-4À1 C 0À18-0À22 Co balance (43À65-66À12) and has an elongation of at least 10% and a toughness (product of percentage elongation and UTS in psi divided by 100) of at least 9, 000. Also present may be Fe (up to 2%), Si (up to 1%), Mn (up to 1%), B (up to 0À01%) S (up to 0À02%). The presence of phosphorus should be avoided. The alloy may be used for making dentures.
