Abstract
1. A process for improving the forging properties of an austenoferritic stainless steel and for limiting the brittlenes of the worked products obtained, said steel having as its composition (% by weight) : C =<0.08 Mn =< 2 Ni 4.5 to 7.0 Cr 20 to 26 N 0.080 to 0.200 Cu =< 3.5 S =< 0.020 P =< 0.030 Mo Si impurities and Fe : remainder characterised in that a starting steel containing : Mo = 0.1 to 3.5 % and Si = 1.5 to 3.5 % is produced.
