Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an Fe-Cr-Al alloy excellent in toughness by specifying a composition consisting of Cr, Si, Mn, Al, and Fe and reducing (C+N) content. CONSTITUTION:This alloy is an Fe-Cr-Al alloy having a composition which consists of, by weight, 16-26% Cr, <=1.5% Si, <=1.0% Mn, 4.0-6.0% Al, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities and in which (C+N)<=0.020% is satisfied and also has superior toughness and, in this alloy, hot workability is improved. Further, in the above composition, the tolerance of (C+N) content can be enlarged to <=0.03% by regulating Al content to 2.0-<4.0%. Moreover, the above alloy can contain P and S by <=about 0.02% and <=about 0.01%, respectively, as impurities.
