Abstract

PURPOSE: To enhance the workability and weldability of an Fe-Cr-Al alloy without deteriorating the oxidation resistance at high temp. by reducing each content of C, N and Si contained in the alloy as impurities to a specified amount or below.
CONSTITUTION: This Fe-Cr-Al alloy contains 21W30% Cr, 3W6% Al, <0.005% C, <0.01% N and <0.25% Si. A conventional Fe-Cr-Al alloy has superior oxidation resistance at high temp., yet Cr and Al contained in large quantities result in deteriorated workability and weldability. In order to prevent the deterioration, each content of C, N and Si as impurites is reduced to said value or below. Thus, this alloy has enhanced workability and weldability, so it can be used as a material for parts and apparatus requiring complex working and welding.
