Abstract

Procedimiento para depositar electrolíticamente una capa metálica sobre un artículo constituido por circonio, o una aleación de circonio, que incluye las fases que consisten en: (a) activar el artículo en una solución acuosa de activación que incluye aproximadamente de 10 a 20 gramos por litro de bifluoruro de amonio y aproximadamente de 0,75 a 2 gramos por litro de ácido sulfúrico, estabilizándose la solución mediante inmersión de circonio decapado en dicha solución durante 10 minutos aproximadamente, (b) suprimir cualquier película débilmente adherida que se haya formado en el artículo durante la fase de activación, y (c) poner en contacto el artículo con una solución de recubrimiento electrolítico que contiene el metal que ha de ser depositado en el artículo en presencia de un electrodo al cual se aplica corriente.
