Abstract
Dispositivo (10, 110) de depilación láser para dirigirse hacia y/o aplicarse a la piel de un usuario para exponer folículos pilosos a radiación láser para la depilación, comprendiendo dicho dispositivo: un cuerpo (14) que aloja un láser (18) de depilación que puede emitir radiación a una longitud de onda adecuada para la depilación, un medio de control que incluye un temporizador para interrumpir el funcionamiento del dispositivo tras un periodo preestablecido, y un sensor para determinar al menos uno de contacto con, o proximidad a, la piel de un usuario, caracterizado porque, el medio de control puede funcionar adicionalmente tras expirar dicho periodo preestablecido, para permitir la reenergización del láser sólo después de que el dispositivo se haya retirado de y vuelto a aplicar a la piel.
Description
Dispositivo de depilación láser
Esta invención se refiere a dispositivos de depilación láser y, en particular, pero no en exclusiva, a dispositivos destinados para el uso doméstico.
En el pasado, la depilación cosmética se ha logrado de numerosas formas incluyendo depilación con pinza, electrólisis y tratamiento con láser. En el procedimiento de tratamiento con láser, se dirige luz a una longitud de onda adecuada (normalmente desde aproximadamente 600 nm hasta 900 nm) hacia la piel de manera que parte de la energía se absorbe por la papila del folículo piloso, que resulta dañada por la deposición de energía lo que conduce a la muerte del folículo y a la posterior eliminación del vello.
Debido a la complejidad de estos dispositivos y a las consideraciones de seguridad inherentes a su uso, tradicionalmente el tratamiento de depilación con láser se ha llevado a cabo en salones o clínicas especializadas en lugar de en el domicilio.
El documento US 6572637 da a conocer una sonda manual proyectora de haz de láser que incluye un dispositivo láser semiconductor controlado por un circuito de control que tiene un temporizador para controlar el momento de encendido del dispositivo láser semiconductor. Un elemento de ajuste para ajustar la separación respecto a la piel puede incluir un microconmutador para detectar el contacto con la piel.
Por tanto, existe una necesidad de un dispositivo de depilación láser con características de seguridad incorporadas de modo que pueda usarse de manera segura en el mercado doméstico.
Por consiguiente, esta invención proporciona un dispositivo de depilación láser para dirigirse hacia y/o aplicarse a la piel de un usuario para exponer folículos pilosos a radiación láser para la depilación, comprendiendo dicho dispositivo: un cuerpo que aloja un láser de depilación que puede emitir radiación a una longitud de onda adecuada para la depilación. Un medio de control que incluye un temporizador para interrumpir el funcionamiento del dispositivo tras un periodo preestablecido, y un sensor para determinar al menos uno de contacto con, o proximidad a, la piel de un usuario, en el que el medio de control puede funcionar adicionalmente tras expirar el periodo preestablecido, para permitir la reenergización del láser sólo después de que el dispositivo se haya retirado de y vuelto a aplicar a la piel.
Esta característica evita la sobreexposición de la piel lo que podría resultar en quemaduras y obliga al usuario a retirar el láser del área seleccionada entre usos, dando de este modo suficiente tiempo para que el área se enfríe y haciendo también poco probable la reubicación del dispositivo sobre exactamente la misma área. El periodo preestablecido dependerá de varios factores pero habitualmente puede ser del orden de 4 segundos.
Las diversas funciones pueden realizarse por componentes montados en un dispositivo de tipo aplicador que contienen al menos la mayor parte de la funcionalidad de control requerida para el funcionamiento. Alternativamente, el dispositivo puede ser en forma de una unidad de base separada contiene la mayor parte del circuito de control con una cabeza separada que contiene la unidad de láser y conectada a la unidad de base por un enlace flexible.
La invención puede realizarse de diversas formas, y ahora se describirán dos realizaciones de la misma únicamente a modo de ejemplo, haciendo referencia a los dibujos adjuntos en los que:
la figura 1 es un diagrama esquemático de una primera realización de un dispositivo de depilación láser según esta invención;
la figura 2 ilustra una segunda realización de un dispositivo de depilación según la invención; y
las figuras 3, 4 y 5 son vistas de una parte del dispositivo de depilación mostrado en la figura 2.
En referencia a la figura 1, el dispositivo 10 de depilación comprende una unidad 12 de base y un cuerpo en la forma de un puntero 14 láser conectado a la unidad de base por medio de un cable 16 retráctil. En esta realización particular, el conjunto de circuitos de control de seguridad está contenido en la unidad 12 de base, aunque en otras realizaciones todo o parte de este conjunto de circuitos puede estar contenido en el puntero 14 láser. El puntero láser contiene un láser 18 que produce un haz de pulsos de radiación láser a una longitud de onda seleccionada para producir la depilación. El láser 18 está dispuesto para proteger su haz a lo largo de un eje 20 principal. El láser 18 está alojado dentro del puntero 14 y el haz, al salir del cuerpo principal del puntero 14 pasa a través de un manguito 22 de protección cilíndrico de material semi-transparente. Adyacente al láser 18 hay un LED 24 diseñado también para proyectar un haz de alta intensidad de luz visible no nociva sustancialmente a lo largo del mismo eje 20 principal, que pasa por el medio del manguito 22. A cada lado del manguito están previstos dos electrodos 26 que están conectados a un circuito de control eléctrico que detecta cuando el puntero 14 láser está en contacto con la piel de una persona. Esto se hace con la detección de la resistividad de la superficie de la piel por los electrodos 26.
Se observaría que, cuando el puntero 14 láser se presiona contra la piel estando ambos contactos 26 en contacto con la piel, el haz de láser emitido desde el láser 18 queda encerrado por el manguito 22.
En la parte posterior del puntero hay un conmutador 28 de funcionamiento cuyo estado se determina por el conjunto de circuitos de control en la unidad 12 de base.
En la unidad de base hay un teclado 30 alfanumérico y un conmutador 32 operado con teclas junto con una pantalla
34. En uso, el circuito de control en la unidad 12 de base impide el funcionamiento del láser 18 hasta que se cumplen ciertas condiciones. En este ejemplo particular, es necesario en primer lugar encender la unidad usando una tecla 36 en el conmutador 32 de teclas y luego teclear un código PIN a través del teclado 30. Cuando se han llevado a cabo estas etapas, la unidad de control activa el LED 24 de modo que se proyecta un haz de alta intensidad de luz visible a lo largo del eje 20 principal tanto como advertencia del eje proyectado del haz de láser desde el 18 cuando está activado, como también para disuadir a los usuarios de dirigirlo hacia sus propios ojos o hacia los de otro. Una vez pasadas las etapas de seguridad iniciales, el puntero 14 puede ofrecerse hasta el área de la piel en la que va a eliminarse el vello y el contacto con la piel (a diferencia de una superficie distinta de la piel) se detecta mediante el circuito de control usando los electrodos 26. Entonces, y sólo entonces, puede activarse el láser 18 principal presionando un conmutador 28 de funcionamiento.
Por tanto se apreciará que la realización ilustrada en la figura 1, requiere que se pasen varias fases de seguridad antes de que pueda hacerse funcionar el láser; las comprobaciones de seguridad de primer nivel confirman las credenciales del usuario (es decir, si está en posesión del código y la clave correctos) y después se evalúa la seguridad física garantizando que el dispositivo está realmente en contacto con la piel antes de habilitar el láser.
Una segunda realización de un dispositivo de depilación se ilustra en las figuras 2 a 5. Las características comunes a las realizaciones primera y segunda tienen la misma numeración. El dispositivo 110 de depilación tiene una unidad 112 de base y un 14 láser manual que funciona de una manera similar a la unidad 12 de base y el puntero 14 descritos anteriormente. En esta realización, el puntero 14 descansa sobre, y se mantiene en su sitio por el alojamiento 112. La unidad de base tiene una fuente 140 de alimentación con adaptador de corriente que tiene un enchufe 142 de salida de cc de bajo voltaje para ajustarse en y poner en marcha la unidad 112 de base. Alternativamente, o también, la unidad 122 de base puede ponerse en marcha mediante baterías, que pueden ser recargables mediante el adaptador de corriente.
En funcionamiento, la unidad de base puede encenderse insertando la llave 136 en la llave 132 de contacto. Como precaución de seguridad adicional, puede tener que presionarse una serie predeterminada de botones en el teclado 130 para permitir poner en marcha el puntero 14 láser. La unidad de base tiene un indicador 134 del nivel de energía, un botón 136 de habilitación/sujeción, un botón 138 de apagado/encendido, y una luz 139 de advertencia de habilitación del puntero. El puntero 14 tiene al menos las mismas características de seguridad que las descritas anteriormente.
Las figuras 3, 4 y 5 muestran vistas diferentes del cabezal del puntero 14. En la figura 3, los electrodos 26 son visibles para entrar en contacto con, o para llegar a mucha proximidad con, la piel de un usuario para habilitar el puntero. Si el láser pudiera dispararse, la trayectoria de la luz de láser coherente pasaría a lo largo del eje 20. El haz 21 de luz visible de alta intensidad pero no nociva, que es luz difusa, se desplaza generalmente a lo largo del mismo eje 20. El haz 21 difuso es de una intensidad menor que el haz de láser y se produce cuando la base 112 está encendida o justo antes del funcionamiento del láser con el fin de estimular un reflejo de parpadeo del ojo de cualquier ojo que se encuentre en la trayectoria del haz 21.
La figura 4 muestra una vista diferente del cabezal del puntero 14. En esta realización se muestra un LED 25 de haz paralelo de baja intensidad que produce un haz de luz estrecho de baja intensidad a lo largo del eje 20. El fin de esta luz es dirigir el láser para guiar al usuario hacia el vello que ha de eliminarse. Esta luz puede encenderse y puede permanecer encendida antes de hacer funcionar el láser. Un LED 24 de alta intensidad adicional produce el haz 21 de luz de alta intensidad para estimular el parpadeo y esta luz se produce justo antes de disparar el láser.
La figura 5 muestra el puntero en uso dirigido, con la ayuda de la luz de baja intensidad del LED 25. En esta posición, los electrodos 26 están en contacto con la piel de un usuario adyacente al vello 50 corporal. La unidad de base, una vez activada suministra energía al LED 25 de dirección, para encender la luz de activación de láser, haciendo que el LED 24 de alta intensidad se ilumine y que entonces el láser produzca luz durante un periodo de tiempo predeterminado, de duración suficiente como para producir daño a la papila del folículo piloso en el vello 50, pero no de duración suficiente como para producir el quemado de la piel. El control en la unidad 112 de base evita que se dispare el láser de nuevo durante un periodo suficiente como para permitir que se enfríe la piel del usuario.
El dispositivo descrito incorpora un dispositivo de depilación que utiliza un láser que genera pulsos de energía y duración suficientes para dañar la papila de cada folículo piloso en la trayectoria del haz, con una o más características de seguridad diseñadas para evitar un mal uso accidental del dispositivo.
El dispositivo descrito implementa un dispositivo de depilación láser para dirigirse hacia y/o aplicarse a la piel de un usuario para exponer folículos pilosos a radiación láser para la depilación, comprendiendo dicho dispositivo un cuerpo que aloja un láser de depilación que puede emitir radiación a una longitud de onda adecuada para la depilación, caracterizado por un elemento de emisión de luz adicional dispuesto para emitir un haz de radiación de alta intensidad no nociva para el ojo generalmente en la misma dirección que dicho láser de depilación, para disuadir de este modo a un usuario de dirigir el dispositivo hacia los ojos.
El haz de alta intensidad no es nocivo en el sentido de que aunque podría ser desagradable mirar hacia el haz, ese haz no produce ninguna lesión permanente.
Preferiblemente, el haz de alta intensidad se enciende tan pronto como se pone en marcha el dispositivo y antes de accionarse el láser de depilación. En la mayoría de los casos, el láser de depilación se disparará según demanda usando un disparador o similar. El láser normalmente generará un haz pulsado de radiación láser. El elemento de emisión de luz preferiblemente emite luz a una longitud de onda a la que el ojo es particularmente sensible, tal como luz de longitud de onda del orden de 500-600 nm y de manera ideal de aproximadamente 555 nm. El elemento de emisión de luz puede comprender un LED diseñado para proporcionar luz a la frecuencia requerida.
El dispositivo descrito implementa un dispositivo de depilación láser para dirigirse hacia y/o aplicarse a la piel de un usuario para exponer folículos pilosos a radiación láser para la depilación, comprendiendo dicho dispositivo un cuerpo que aloja un láser de depilación que puede emitir radiación a una longitud de onda adecuada para la depilación, caracterizado por un elemento de filtro adyacente al extremo del dispositivo para atenuar en uso la reflexión del haz del láser de depilación desde la piel del usuario.
Preferiblemente, el elemento de filtro comprende un elemento tubular que se extiende desde el extremo del dispositivo alrededor del haz de láser emitido. El elemento tubular puede ser convenientemente cilíndrico.
El dispositivo descrito incorpora un dispositivo de depilación láser para dirigirse hacia y/o aplicarse a la piel de un usuario para exponer folículos pilosos a radiación láser para la depilación, comprendiendo dicho dispositivo un cuerpo que aloja un láser de depilación que puede emitir radiación a una longitud de onda adecuada para la depilación, caracterizado por un sensor para detectar el contacto del dispositivo con la piel y/o la proximidad a la misma, y un medio de control sensible a la salida de dicho sensor para inhibir el funcionamiento de dicho láser de depilación cuando el dispositivo no está en contacto con o cerca de la piel.
El sensor puede comprender convenientemente dos elementos de contacto conductivos y un circuito eléctrico para determinar el contacto del mismo con la piel. El circuito eléctrico puede por ejemplo determinar la resistencia eléctrica. Preferiblemente, la distancia de los dos elementos de contacto es comparable en tamaño a, o menor que el tamaño de, una abertura de ojo para evitar disparar directamente en el ojo. Esta distancia se encuentra preferiblemente en el intervalo de aproximadamente 0,5 a 1,5 cm desde el centro de un elemento al centro del otro elemento.
Podrían usarse otros sensores con similar función que determinan la distancia o proximidad del dispositivo a la piel. Así, un haz de luz o un haz de radiación electromagnética puede determinar la distancia del dispositivo desde la piel y esta salida puede usarse por el medio de control para inhibir el funcionamiento.
El dispositivo descrito implementa un dispositivo de depilación láser para dirigirse hacia y/o aplicarse a la piel de un usuario para exponer folículos pilosos a radiación láser para la depilación, comprendiendo dicho dispositivo un cuerpo que aloja un láser de depilación que puede emitir radiación a una longitud de onda adecuada para la depilación, caracterizado por un medio de control para hacer funcionar dicho láser de depilación, incluyendo dicho medio de control un bloqueo para evitar el uso no autorizado.
Dicho bloqueo puede adoptar varias formas; por ejemplo, podría incluir un teclado numérico para que el usuario introduzca un código de identificación, inhibiéndose el funcionamiento a menos que se introduzca el código correcto; podría incluir un interruptor que funcione con llave de tal manera que sólo un usuario con la llave puede encender el dispositivo. Además, el medio de control puede inhibir el funcionamiento del láser a menos que se realice una serie de dos más acciones. Por ejemplo, el medio de control puede inhibir el funcionamiento del láser hasta que un sensor de contacto o de proximidad detecte tanto que el dispositivo se encuentra adyacente a la piel de forma segura como que el usuario ha presionado un interruptor de activación. El medio de control puede requerir que estas acciones se realicen en el orden correcto.
Claims (3)
- REIVINDICACIONES1. Dispositivo (10, 110) de depilación láser para dirigirse hacia y/o aplicarse a la piel de un usuario para exponer folículos pilosos a radiación láser para la depilación, comprendiendo dicho dispositivo:5 un cuerpo (14) que aloja un láser (18) de depilación que puede emitir radiación a una longitud de onda adecuada para la depilación,un medio de control que incluye un temporizador para interrumpir el funcionamiento del dispositivo tras un 10 periodo preestablecido, y un sensor para determinar al menos uno de contacto con, o proximidad a, la piel de un usuario,caracterizado porque, el medio de control puede funcionar adicionalmente tras expirar dicho periodo preestablecido, para permitir la reenergización del láser sólo después de que el dispositivo se haya retirado 15 de y vuelto a aplicar a la piel.
- 2. Dispositivo de depilación láser según la reivindicación 1, en el que el cuerpo (14) del dispositivo incluye componentes que contienen al menos la mayor parte de la funcionalidad de control requerida para el funcionamiento.
- 3. Dispositivo de depilación láser según la reivindicación 1, en el que el dispositivo es en forma de una unidad (12, 112) de base separada que contiene la mayor parte del circuito de control con una cabeza (14) separada que contiene la unidad de láser y conectada a la unidad de base por un enlace (16) flexible.
