SE DESCRIBE UN METODO PARA INCREMENTAR LA ACUMULACION DE ESQUALENO Y ESTEROLES ESPECIFICOS EN UNA LEVADURA, QUE COMPRENDE INCREMENTAR EL NIVEL DE EXPRESION DEL CODIGO DE UN GENE ESTRUCTURAL DE UN POLIPEPTIDO QUE TIENE LA ACTIVIDAD DE LA REDUCTASA HMG-COA EN UNA LEVADURA MUTANTE QUE TIENE EFECTOS UNICOS O DOBLES EN LA EXPRESION DE LAS BISINTETICENZIMAS ESTEROL. EL NIVEL DE EXPRESION DEL GENE ESTRUCTURAL INCREMENTADO PREFERENTEMENTE MEDIANTE LA TRANSFORMACION DE LA LEVADURA CON UNA MOLECULA RECOMBINANTE DE DNA QUE COMPRENDE UN VECTOR OPERATIVAMENTE LIGADO A UN SEGMENTO EXOGENO DE DNA QUE CODIFICA UN POLIPEPTIDO QUE TIENE ACTIVIDAD DE LA REDUCTASA HMG-COA Y UN PROMOTOR QUE ES UTIL PARA CONDUCIR LA EXPRESION DEL PEPTIDO MODIFICADO DE LA LEVADURA TRANSFORMADA.
