LA SAPONIFICACION DIRECTA DE NITRILO DE METIONINA OBTENIBLE A PARTIR DE ALDEHIDO MERCAPTO PROPIONICO METIL, ACIDO PRUSICO Y AMONIACO CONDUCE A UN RENDIMIENTO REDUCIDO, A LA PERDIDA DE EDUCTO Y DE CATALIZADOR ASI COMO A PRODUCTOS INTERMEDIOS NO DESEADOS. EL OBJETIVO CON ELLO ES PODER OBTENER UN PROCEDIMIENTO, QUE DEBA SER REALIZADO SIN AISLAMIENTO DE LAS ETAPAS INTERMEDIAS EN PARTICULAR DE FORMA CONTINUA CON PERDIDAS REDUCIDAS. LA CETONA UTILIZADA SE RECUPERA CON GRAN RENDIMIENTO DESPUES DE LA SAPONIFICACION DE AMIDA, DE TAL MODO QUE SE LIBERA CON ELLO LA CETONA A PARTIR DE LOS PRODUCTOS SECUNDARIOS. PARA LA RECUPERACION DEL AMONIACO ES NECESARIO QUE ESTE SE LIBERE ESENCIALMENTE CON CETONA, CON LO CUAL SE SEPARA UNA MEZCLA DE AGUA-CETONA-AMONIACO BAJO SOBREPRESION EN UNA COLUMNA. CUANDO LA AMIDA SE SAPONIFICA EN TEMPERATURA MAYOR O IGUAL A 160 ES VENTAJOSA LA CONCENTRACION DE AMIDA MENOR O IGUAL A 25% EN PESO. EL NITRILO DE METIONINA SE FORMA CON AL MENOS 4 EQUIVALENTES EN PROPORCION MAYOR OIGUAL AL 50 % EN PESO DE AMONIACO, ENTRE 40 Y 80 DESTRUYE MEDIANTE CALENTAMIENTO POR ENCIMA DE 150 ONINA SE UTILIZA EN PARTICULAR COMO SUSTANCIA COMESTIBLE EN PARTICULAR EN SOLUCION ACUOSA.
