PROCESO DE FABRICACION DE N-FENILMALEIMIDA, EN EL QUE SE HACE REACCIONAR A TEMPERATURA ELEVADA ANHIDRIDO MOLEICO CON ANILINA EN UNA SOLA FASE, EN PRESENCIA DE UN SOLVENTE ORGANICO NO MISCIBLE CON AGUA CAPAZ DE FORMAR UN AZEOTROPO CON EL AGUA Y DE ACIDO P-TOLUENOSULFORICO COMO CATALIZADOR. SEGUN LA INVENCION, LA RECUPERACION DEL N-FENILMALEIMIDA COMPRENDE LAS SIGUIENTES FASES SUCESIVAS: (A) SE TRATA LA MEZCLA DE REACCION EN UNA ZONA DE DILUCION Y DE FILTRACION EN EL QUE ESTA DILUIDO POR UNA CANTIDAD SUPLEMENTARIA DEL SOLVENTE, SIENDO SOMETIDA LA MEZCLA DILUIDA A UNA FILTRACION DE BAJA TEMPERATURA PARA SEPARAR UNA TORTA SOLIDA QUE CONTIENE EL CATALIZADOR Y LAS IMPUREZAS, Y UN FILTRADO QUE CONSISTE EN UNA SOLUCION DE N-FENILMALEIMIDA EN EL SOLVENTE, Y (B) SE SOMETE ESTA SOLUCION DE N-FENILMALEIMIDA A UNA DESTILACION A PRESION REDUCIDA DE MANERA A SEPARAR SUCESIVAMENTE EL SOLVENTE Y N-FENILMALEIMIDA AL MENOS 99% DE PUREZA, MIENTRAS QUE EL RESIDUO DE DESTILACION ES TRATADO EXACTAMENTE COMO SE INDICA EN (A) EN UNA ZONA DE DILUCION Y DE FILTRACION PARA RECUPERAR EL N-FENILMALEIMIDA, SIENDO REENVIADO EL FILTRADO A LA FASE (A) PARA SERVIR A LA DILUCION DE LA MEZCLA DE REACCION DE UNA SINTESIS POSTERIOR. ADEMAS, SE LAVAN LAS TORTAS DE FILTRACION DE LAS FASES (A) Y (B) CON SOLVENTE OBTENIDO POR DESTILACION A LA FASE (B) Y SE RECICLAN LOS SOLVENTES DE LAVADO EN EL ESTADIO DE SINTESIS DEL N-FENILMALEIMIDA Y/O EN LAS ZONAS DE DILUCION. SE OBTIENE UN N-FENILMALEIMIDA DE ALTA PUREZA CON UN RENDIMIENTO GLOBAL QUE EXCEDE DE 86 MOLES %; EL PROBLEMA DE LA CONTAMINACION DE LAS AGUAS SE REDUCE AL MINIMO.
