Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a finger protection device for a door, in particular for a wing door.
  • the gap between the secondary closing edge of the door leaf opposite the hinge and the door frame is covered with a textile protective roller blind, which is attached to the door frame on the one hand and to the door leaf on the other.
  • a roller blind is unwound from a shaft; when the door is closed, this roller blind is wound up again.
  • the door gap remains inaccessible in any position of the door leaf and fingers cannot get caught.
  • Such a protective roller blind is available, for example GB 2,164,690 disclosed.
  • the roller blind housing which contains a shaft for winding up the textile roller track, is provided with a sliding block.
  • the free edge of the roller blind is provided with a rigid end strip that is screwed to the door leaf.
  • Further finger protection devices with roller blinds are available DE 37 16 654 , DE 20 2008 016 094 U and WO 2017/036679 A1 known.
  • roller blinds have proven themselves in practice. However, problems can arise, for example, with heavy door leaves or large door opening angles. Depending on the type of fabric used for the roller blind, it may no longer wind up optimally. For very light doors, the roller blind can act like a door closer. On the one hand, this type of automatic closing is usually undesirable. On the other hand, this rapid closing can mean that the roller blind is no longer wound up evenly. This undesirable closing effect can occur with very smooth hinges, i.e. door hinges, even with heavy doors.
  • KR 2003 93560 Y1 discloses a door closer that prevents the door leaf from closing too quickly.
  • the door closer consists of a short roller blind with a roll-up roller track.
  • the roller blind is attached to the door frame on the one hand and to the movable door leaf on the other.
  • the finger protection device according to the invention for a door has a roller blind with a roller blind strip.
  • the roller blind covers a gap between a door leaf and a door frame of the door and rolls up when the door leaf is closed.
  • the finger protection device has an inhibiting unit which inhibits a rolling-up movement and/or an unrolling movement of the roller blind web. In the simplest embodiments, only the rolling movement of the roller blind is inhibited. In any case, the rolling up movement of the roller blind is preferably inhibited.
  • the optimal rolling up mentioned preferably means that the rolling up of the roller blind has no or only a minimal influence on the closing of the door; i.e. the finger protection device does not act as a door closer or only to an insignificant extent. It preferably also means that the roller blind rolls up as wrinkle-free as possible.
  • the winding roller blind membrane does not inhibit the movement of the door leaf but also does not exert any relevant retraction force on the door leaf.
  • the tension of the partially or fully extended roller blind is adjusted so that its protective function is maintained, even if a child or another person tries to press the roller blind with their finger.
  • the roller blind membrane should remain so taut when rolled up that your finger cannot get caught in the gap between the door leaf and the door frame.
  • the braking unit preferably acts as a brake, which reduces the rotational movement of the shaft and thus the rolling up and/or unrolling force of the roller blind.
  • only the rolling movement is inhibited.
  • only the rolling movement is inhibited.
  • the rolling movement is braked at least at the beginning of the movement and the rolling up movement is braked at least at the end of the movement, i.e. when the roll is almost full.
  • both movements are inhibited.
  • at least the rolling movement is inhibited.
  • the inhibition unit there is a constant inhibition or it increases or decreases as the winding circumference of the roll increases.
  • the roll is the part of the roller blind that is wound on the shaft.
  • the inhibiting effect is preferably greater with a large winding circumference of the roll than with a small winding circumference.
  • the inhibiting effect of the rolling movement and/or the rolling movement is adjustable.
  • the setting is done manually.
  • the adjustment can be carried out on site with the finger protection device already installed.
  • the inhibition unit is mechanically designed. It preferably acts on the roller blind or the shaft.
  • the locking unit is in the bearing of the shaft or arranged between bearing and shaft.
  • the roller blind has a longitudinal axis and the inhibiting unit acts perpendicular to the longitudinal axis on the roller blind, preferably on the rolled-up part of the roller blind.
  • the braking unit is a mechanical friction brake which acts on the roller blind.
  • the braking unit has a resilient braking element which presses against a rolled-up part of the roller blind.
  • the roller blind has a longitudinal axis and the inhibiting unit acts on the roller blind parallel to the longitudinal axis.
  • the effects parallel and perpendicular to the longitudinal axis can also be combined with each other.
  • the roller blind comprises a shaft on which the roller blind web can be wound, with the inhibiting unit acting on the shaft.
  • the inhibiting unit preferably has a bearing, for example a ball bearing, the bearing inhibiting a rotational movement of the shaft in at least one direction of rotation.
  • the roller blind has a housing and a first fastening means.
  • the roller blind can be attached to the door frame and door leaf using the housing and fasteners.
  • the fastening means has a first fastening strip and a second fastening strip, with the roller blind having an end strip on its free edge, which is held in the first fastening strip.
  • the second fastening strip can be connected to the first fastening strip in order to tension the roller blind between the housing and fastening means.
  • the roller blind is preferably designed to be flat. It preferably consists of a textile material.
  • the roller blind has a spring-loaded retraction mechanism for rolling up the roller blind.
  • the finger protection device itself does not have a locking mechanism which holds the roller blind in an unrolled or partially unrolled position.
  • FIG. 1 shows a door with a door frame R and a door leaf F. This is a wing door.
  • the idea according to the invention can also be applied to other doors, in particular sliding doors, or windows.
  • the term “door” also refers to windows and other types of doors.
  • the term “double door” also refers to "casement windows”.
  • the door hinge B is not visible in this figure because it is covered by the finger protection device S.
  • the finger protection device S extends approximately over the entire height of the door leaf F and thus bridges the gap that exists between the door frame R and the door leaf when the door is open F arises. In other embodiments, the finger protection device extends, for example, only over the lower area that can still be reached by small children.
  • the finger protection device S essentially consists of a roller blind, which is attached to the door frame R on the one hand and to the door leaf F on the other.
  • the finger protection device S has a roller blind housing 1, which has a base body 10 and a housing base 11.
  • the housing foot 11 is used to attach it to the door leaf F. It is usually attached using screws.
  • the roller blind housing 1 can also be attached to the door frame R.
  • a shaft 3 is rotatably mounted in the base body 10.
  • a roller blind sheet 2 is wound on the shaft 3 and is led outwards through a slot in the base body 10.
  • the roller blind sheet 2 preferably consists of a textile material or a plastic sheet.
  • the roller blind 2 is preferably designed to be flat. In other embodiments it is net or grid-shaped. There are other types of design of the roller blind 2 possible.
  • the shaft 3 is spring-loaded, so that an unrolled part of the roller blind membrane 2 automatically retracts. This arrangement is well known from the prior art.
  • the shaft 3 is a cylindrical hollow tube with a first and a second end. The end faces of the base body 10 are closed, preferably with a first and a second cover 4, 4 '.
  • the shaft 3 is rotatably mounted at one end, the second end, on the second end face, preferably on the second cover 4 '. Its first end is connected via a return spring 5 to the first cover 4 of the housing 1, which is opposite the second cover 4 '.
  • the return spring 5 is usually a torsion or spiral spring, also called a helical spring. This return spring 5 is in the Figures 4 and 5 shown. If the door is opened, a pull acts on the roller blind track 2 and it is pulled out. The shaft 3 rotates and the return spring 5 is tensioned. If the door is closed, the pull on the roller blind 2 is eliminated, the return spring 5 relaxes, the shaft 3 rotates and the roller blind 2 is retracted and wound up.
  • the free edge of the roller blind 2 is provided with an end strip 21.
  • This end strip 21 can be attached to the door frame T by means of a fastening unit 1 'or to the door leaf F when the housing 1 is arranged on the door frame T.
  • a fastening unit 1' is available for this purpose. This can be designed differently. Examples are known from the prior art.
  • the fastening unit 1' has a first fastening strip 10' in which the end strip 21 is held fixed. This fastening strip 10 'is hook-shaped.
  • a second fastening strip 11 ' is arranged on the door frame R, preferably it is screwed, glued or fastened in some other way.
  • One of the screws used for this is provided with the reference number 12'.
  • the first fastening strip 10' can be hooked into this second fastening strip 11'. It can also be fixed in position using grub screws. However, it preferably holds without this fixation.
  • Other fasteners can also be used instead of the two strips, such as adhesive tapes.
  • the roller blind membrane 2 covers the gap between the door frame R and the door leaf.
  • the roller blind membrane 2 is pulled out furthest from the housing 1 or unwound from the shaft 3; when the door is closed, it is drawn in or wound up the most.
  • the finger protection device is provided with an inhibiting unit which prevents the roller blind web 2 from being wound up too quickly and/or unwound too quickly.
  • This inhibition unit is preferably designed as a brake.
  • FIG. 4 to 6 a first embodiment is shown.
  • the figures show the end of the finger protection device S which is provided with the return spring 5.
  • the cover 4 can be attached to the front end of the base body 10.
  • it has a head 40 for resting on the end face and for engaging in the base body 10 and a neck 41 for engaging in the shaft 3.
  • the shaft 3 is rotatable relative to the neck 41.
  • the return spring 5 is fixed with a first end on the neck 41 of the first cover 4.
  • the second end of the return spring 5 is attached to a base of a spring pin 50.
  • This base is connected to the shaft 3 in a rotationally fixed manner.
  • the spring pin 50 preferably has a radially projecting flange 52 with a preferably completely circumferential groove 53 at its lower end.
  • the flange 52 forms the above-mentioned base. This is shown in the enlarged view of the lower section of the Figure 4 well depicted.
  • the shaft 3 is preferably pressed into the groove 53 at at least one, preferably at several and even more preferably at exactly three points and is thus connected to the spring pin 52 in a rotationally fixed manner.
  • a grain is preferably used for this.
  • the base of the spring pin 50 is arranged in a press fit in the shaft 3. However, it can also be connected to wave 3 in another way.
  • the return spring 5 is preferably designed in the form of a spiral spring, also called a helical spring.
  • the spring pin 50 extends within the return spring 5 into the area of the first cover 4. Between the underside of the head 40 of the first cover 4 and one end of the spring pin 40, a ball 51 is arranged, which lies in a recess in the spring pin 40. It guides the spring pin 51 in its rotational movement relative to the first cover 4.
  • the first cover 4 is designed so that it can be rotated relative to the base body 10 even in the assembled or semi-assembled state. It therefore preferably has a collar 46 with a round cross section.
  • the collar 46 is in Figure 6 recognizable.
  • the head 40 can be fixed in a rotationally fixed manner in the base body 10 by means of a fixing screw 44. For this purpose it has a fixing hole 43.
  • the base body 10 has at least one threaded hole 12 for this purpose. If the upper region of the cover 4, as shown in this example, is not rotationally symmetrical or if there is only one threaded hole 12 or only one fixing hole 43, the cover 4 can only be fixed in a single fixed rotational position. This configuration allows the user to remember the number of revolutions.
  • the return spring 5 is turned up more than is recommended by the manufacturer for a smooth return of the roller blind. For example, instead of 150 turns of the return spring 5, the return spring 5 is turned to 160 turns.
  • the first lid 4 can be turned by hand. For example, by attaching corresponding radially projecting flanges. In preferred embodiments, however, the first cover 4 can only be rotated with a suitable tool. In the exemplary embodiment shown here, the first cover therefore has a central recess 42 with a square or hexagon, into which a corresponding Allen key I can be inserted.
  • the restoring spring 5 together with the rotatable first cover 4 thus form a common regulator for the restoring force of the roller blind 2. This restoring force can therefore be adjusted so that the door leaf is not automatically retracted and the roller blind therefore does not act as a door closer. This also ensures that the roller blind membrane can roll up without wrinkles.
  • FIG. 7 and 8 a second embodiment of the finger protection device according to the invention is shown.
  • This device acts from the outside on the shaft 3, more precisely on the wound part of the roller blind sheet 2.
  • the base body 10 has a recess in at least one place. This is preferably arranged at the end opposite the housing foot 11.
  • a brake block 6 is inserted into this recess.
  • the brake block 6 preferably has a housing 60 with outwardly projecting flanges 600 adapted to the curvature of the base body 10.
  • the housing 60 can be plugged onto the base body 10.
  • the housing 60 is preferably made of metal or plastic.
  • the housing 60 has a U-shaped cross section that is essentially open towards the base body 10 and defines an interior space.
  • the base remote from the base body 10 has a through opening through which a support 61, here in the form of a screw, is penetrated.
  • a pressing body 62 is arranged on the carrier 61.
  • the position of the pressing body 62 can be adjusted relative to the carrier 61 and thus to the housing 60.
  • it has a threaded hole 621 into which the carrier 61, ie the screw, engages.
  • a compression spring 63 is arranged, which presses the pressing body 62 towards the shaft 3 or towards the wound roller blind web 3.
  • the pressing body 62 has a pressing surface 620 directed towards the shaft 3, which is preferably curved in accordance with the curvature of the wound roller blind web 2.
  • the pressing body 62 is preferably made of polished steel, another metal or a plastic in order to avoid abrasion on the roller blind sheet 2.
  • the carrier 61 By means of the distance between the carrier 61 and the pressure body 62, it is possible to adjust the degree to which the roller blind sheet 2 is unrolled and the pressure body 62 still touches the roller blind sheet and thus brakes its movement.
  • the compression spring 63 ensures the desired contact pressure and thus the desired braking effect.
  • the carrier 61 moves freely through the housing 60 to the outside. In this example, the braking effect occurs both when opening and closing the door leaf, i.e. when unrolling as well as when rolling up the roller blind web 2.
  • a single such brake block 6 is present, which is preferably arranged in an end region or in a central region in relation to the longitudinal axis of the finger protection device.
  • two or more such brake blocks are arranged. For example, they are arranged in both end regions or they divide the finger protection device in the longitudinal direction into regions of approximately the same size.

  • the spring tongue 70 passes through the base body 10, which preferably has one for this purpose Through opening 13, here in the form of a slot.
  • a tongue base 700 which connects in one piece to the spring tongue 70, protrudes from the base body 10 approximately parallel to the housing foot 11.
  • the spring tongue 70 and the spring base 700 are preferably made of metal or plastic.
  • the tongue base 700 is pressed onto a foot 71 of the brake spring 7 by means of an adjusting screw 72 and a compression spring 73.
  • the foot 71 is attached to the housing foot 11.
  • the adjusting screw 72 engages in a thread of the foot 71.
  • the foot 71 has a step-shaped or inclined surface.
  • the spring tongue 70 is shown at the maximum distance from the wound roller blind web 2. If the adjusting screw 72 is screwed deeper into the foot 71, the tongue base 700 is raised and the free end of the spring tongue 70 is moved in the direction of the roller blind track 2. This allows the contact pressure on the roller blind to be adjusted and thus the braking effect. This braking effect also occurs both when unrolling and when rolling up the roller blind.
  • only a single such brake spring 7 is present, which is preferably arranged at one end or in the central region of the finger protection device.
  • two or more spring tongues 7 can also be used, for example in the arrangement options described in the example above.
  • the inhibiting unit is formed by a brake clamp 8.

  • the brake clip 8 is plugged onto the base body 10 through the opening of the base body 10 through which the roller blind sheet 2 passes; it is preferably attached in the form of a clip.
  • the first leg 80 remains outside and the second leg 82 engages in the interior of the base body 10.
  • the first leg 80 is preferably bent according to the outer curvature of the base body 10.
  • the second leg 82 is preferably curved according to the curvature of the rolled-up roller blind web 2.
  • the second leg 82 presses on the rolled-up part of the roller blind 2 and thus brakes its movement when unrolling and rolling up.
  • It or the entire clamp 8 is preferably designed to be resilient. As with the other embodiments that use friction for the braking effect, the effect can take place over the entire winding movement of the roller blind or only at the beginning of unrolling and at the end of rolling up.
  • a single brake clip 8 is present or there are two or more brake clips or clips. By selecting the number of brake clamps 8, the braking force can also be varied and selected according to the weight of the door leaf or the opening angle of the door or according to other factors.
  • FIG. 13 to 15 A further embodiment of the finger protection device according to the invention is shown. This embodiment again acts on the shaft 3 from the inside, but on the side opposite the return spring 5.
  • FIG 13 An end region of the assembled finger protection device is shown. The return spring end is at the bottom and cannot be seen. The upper one shown contains the pivot bearing of the shaft 3. The arrangement can also be reversed, ie the end with the pivot bearing can also be arranged at the bottom.
  • the braking device is a brake bearing 9, which is in the Figures 14 and 15 is clearly visible.
  • a cylindrical bushing 90 which is designed to be closed towards the shaft 3 and which has axially extending webs on its outer circumference and is provided with an outwardly directed flange 900 at the upper open edge.
  • This bushing 90 is inserted into the end of the shaft 3 facing away from the return spring 5 and is thus connected to the shaft 3 in a rotationally fixed manner. It rests with the flange 900 on the front side of the shaft 3.
  • the sleeve 90 is preferably made of metal or plastic.
  • a ball bearing 91 is inserted into the bushing 90.
  • An adjusting piston 92 is held in the second cover 4 'in a rotationally fixed manner, but is axially displaceable. Depending on the setting of the adjusting pin 45', the adjusting piston 92 is pressed downwards. He presses through it the ball bearing 91 on the bottom of the bushing 90. The ball bearing 91 is inhibited by this contact pressure and thus inhibits the rotational movement of the bushing 90 and thus of the shaft 3.
  • a return spring 93 is arranged between a lower wall of the second cover 4 'and a foot of the adjusting piston 92. If the adjusting pin 45' is turned outwards and thus releases the adjusting piston 92, this return spring 93 moves the adjusting piston 92 upwards.

  • An adjusting pin 45' which has a beveled tip, is arranged in the adjusting hole 42'.
  • the position of the adjusting pin 45 ' can be moved relative to the phase of the adjusting piston 92 using a suitable tool, here an Allen key I. This allows the axial position of the adjusting piston 92 and thus the axial pressure on the ball bearing 91 to be increased and thus the braking force on the bushing 92 and the shaft 3 to be increased.
  • the adjustment pin 45' is preferably a grub screw with a pointed or beveled end.
  • the adjusting piston is held non-rotatably in the second cover 4'.
  • the bushing 90 and thus also the shaft 3 can be rotated relative to the adjusting piston 92.
  • the friction between these movable parts can be changed. This means that a braking effect can be achieved both when unrolling and when winding up the roller blind web 2. As in most previous examples, this braking effect is adjustable with the finger guard installed.
  • the finger protection device enables the retraction force of the roller blind to be adjusted on site with the finger protection device already installed, so that the restoring force of the roller blind can be adapted to the opening angle and the weight of the door.
