Definitions

  • the present invention is based on a chronograph, in particular a wrist chronograph, with a case and a crown arranged along a crown axis, the chronograph having operating elements for operating the time measurement function of the chronograph, the operating elements being arranged at an angle to the crown axis.
  • Chronographs are watches with a timekeeping function.
  • the crown protrudes from the case, as do the controls.
  • the crown is used to set the time of the watch and can be moved and rotated along the crown axis.
  • the controls can be operated by pressing.
  • the disadvantage here is that the controls protrude from the housing and can be operated separately from one another. Unintentional actuation can occur due to the arrangement of the operating elements. In addition, the protruding controls are not aesthetically pleasing.
  • the document DE 22 39 345 A1 discloses a wrist chronograph having a case with a crown arranged along a crown axis, the chronograph having controls for operating the timekeeping function of the chronograph, the controls being arranged at an angle to the crown axis.
  • This chronograph also has a cover element for covering the operating elements, the covering element being pivotable about an axis, the axis being arranged perpendicular to and intersecting the axis of the crown, the covering element being in contact with one of the operating elements in a pivoted position in such a way that that the cover actuates one of the controls.
  • the cover element is preferably of essentially rigid design. In particular, this means that both controls cannot be operated at the same time.
  • the cover element is essentially in the form of an arc of a circle.
  • the cover element is particularly preferably designed in the form of a rocker, in particular with regard to the axis.
  • the cover element preferably comprises an outer cover element and an inner cover element, which is in particular firmly connected to the outer cover element.
  • the method according to the invention has the advantage over the prior art that the operating elements do not protrude beyond the housing but are arranged inside the chronograph and the cover element is flush with the housing.
  • the operating elements are advantageously actuated intuitively by pivoting in the sense of a seesaw of the cover element. Damage to the controls is also advantageously largely ruled out by the indirect actuation.
  • the axis is arranged perpendicular to a main extension plane of the chronograph, in particular a display of the chronograph.
  • a main extension plane of the chronograph is parallel to a main extension plane of the case and/or a back of the chronograph. This advantageously makes it possible for the movement to actuate the operating elements to take place parallel to the main plane of extension.
  • the chronograph has a lower bearing and an upper bearing along the axis for guiding the pivoting, with the cover element preferably encompassing the upper bearing.
  • the chronograph particularly preferably has a base plate element in the area of the cover element, with the base plate element particularly preferably comprising the lower bearing.
  • the housing is essentially round and has a recess, arranged in particular in the area of the crown, with the cover element being arranged in the recess.
  • the housing is rectangular or polygonal.
  • the cover preferably replaces a portion of the housing.
  • the chronograph has a bezel which is in particular firmly connected to the housing at least in sections, with the cover element encompassing a section of the bezel.
  • the bezel particularly preferably has a scale. In this way, it is advantageously possible to ensure good readability of the time measurement function of the chronograph and simple installation of the cover element in the chronograph.
  • one of the operating elements is provided for starting and/or stopping a time measurement function, with the other of the operating elements preferably being provided for resetting the time measurement function. This makes it advantageously possible
  • the cover element comprises a restoring element, in particular a spring element, which is configured in such a way that it brings the cover element from the pivoted position into the starting position.
  • a section of the cover element projects beyond the housing in the pivoted position and another section projects into the housing, the protruding section being assigned to the actuated control element.
  • the projecting section and the projecting section are arranged at opposite ends along a longitudinal extension of the cover element.
  • the cover element in the starting position and/or the pivoted position is at a distance from at least one of the operating elements. This advantageously prevents accidental actuation, since a certain distance must first be covered before the operating element is actuated by the cover element. However, sufficient pivoting of the cover element is visible without a doubt, as a result of which unintentional actuation would be recognized immediately.
  • the covering element is in contact with both operating elements in the starting position, ie in the starting position there is a contact area between the covering element and at least one operating element. This in turn is beneficial to the necessary Adjustment travel is minimized, making more precise time measurement possible.
  • the non-actuated operating element is advantageously at a distance from the cover element, so that accidental actuation of the undesired operating element is ruled out.
  • the covering element comprises a contact means in a contact area with the operating elements, wherein the contact means preferably comprises a hardened material and/or an elastic material.
  • the contact means preferably comprises a hardened material and/or an elastic material.
  • Another object of the present invention is a method for operating a chronograph according to the invention, in which, in order to operate the time measurement function of the chronograph, the cover element is moved from an initial position, in which it is flush with the housing, into a pivoted position in such a way that the cover element is one of the Operating elements are actuated, the movement taking place in particular parallel to a main extension plane of the chronograph.
  • the time measurement functions of the chronograph it is advantageously possible for the time measurement functions of the chronograph to be operated easily without the operating elements protruding beyond the housing at any time.
  • the movement of the cover element which corresponds in particular to a rocking movement, is intuitive for a user and in the starting position the chronograph advantageously acts like a watch without a timekeeping function.
  • FIG 1 1 shows a chronograph 1 according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention in a schematic view from below.
  • the chronograph 1 is a wristwatch, here with a case diameter of about 42 mm, with a timekeeping function and includes a case 2 with connection points 12 for a bracelet and a crown 3 arranged laterally on a crown axis 100.
  • On both sides of the crown 3 are within the Chronograph 1 controls 4, 5, arranged for example in the form of slidable pins along a longitudinal axis.
  • the operating elements 4, 5 are in particular arranged symmetrically to the crown axis 100 and at an angle to it.
  • the cover element 6 is movably mounted. A starting position is shown here, in which none of the operating elements 4, 5 is actuated.

  • the cover element 6 has been pressed in the direction of the housing 2 by a user in the upper area, ie in the area of the operating element 4 . Due to the movable storage about an axis 200 perpendicular to the crown axis 100, this intersecting, and perpendicular to the In the main extension plane of the chronograph 1, which is parallel to the plane of the drawing here, the cover element 6 pivots in the plane of the drawing and thus actuates the operating element 4.
  • the cover element 6 is no longer flush with the outer contour of the housing 2, but protrudes from the Side of the actuated control element 4 into a recess 15 of the housing 2, while it is on the other side, in the region of the non-actuated control element 5 spaced from this and protrudes beyond the outer contour of the housing 2.
