Definitions

  • the invention relates to a method for operating a transport device for processing book blocks according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Bookbinders are increasingly being confronted with having to produce book blocks for hardcover production in small series, often with an edition of a book.
  • the contents of such books are produced by printing machines which have short changeover times.
  • Most often, short runs are made with digital presses that allow you to dynamically change the print content.
  • This allows a book to be printed in sequence and further processed into a book block. This happens mostly in-line, i. the required process steps from letterpress printing, folding and collation of the printed sheets as well as adhesive binding run until the ready-bound book is present directly behind one another and in a plant, which is also referred to as Buchstrasse.
  • the book block is provided with attachment sheets, which are glued to both sides of the book block with a thin glue trace.
  • these attachment sheets serve as a hinge for the envelope.
  • they are preferably fed only after milling. Overlapping the spine of the book then a KlalzelstMail is attached, which is glued, for example, with hot glue or PUR on the back of the book block.
  • the socizelstMail attached in this way ensures that the book block is held together.
  • the book block is cut to the intended format and finally stuck a firm envelope to the two header sheet.
  • a compact adhesive binder which has a transport device with a closed orbit and arranged in the region of the orbit processing stations.
  • the transport device is designed as a turntable with peripheral pliers receptacles, in each of which a book block receiving pair of jaws is arranged. Because the jaws hold the book block during the entire processing can be in such a perfect binder, the attachment sheet at best together with the book block, ie before the back processing, resulting in the already mentioned above quality problems.
  • EP 1344655 A2 is an especially suitable for short runs perfect binder with a arranged after the milling feeder for the attachment sheet known. It is a linear, relatively long-building system with several in a row successively arranged processing stations and with a step-by-step forward book block transport, which is realized by a reciprocating transport device.
  • the subsidized standing on his back book block is detected in its lower part on both sides by a transport device belonging to the clamping rail, which the book block transported by the milling device to the feed unit for the attachment sheet. There, the book block is transferred to an attacking in its central region retaining clip.
  • the clamping rails are released and fed both the attachment sheet and the KlalzelstMake.
  • the clamping rails compress the book block near his back and thus compress it in its lower area.
  • the upper block of the book block is caught by the retaining clip while the clamping bars are still engaged. Then open the clamping rails to clear the way for the supply of the attachment sheet.
  • This gripping the clamping devices brings a disturbance in the book block, which can lead to inaccuracies and shifts. If it is a voluminous book block, this isteurgewalkt, because the air contained in the book block must first escape to the outside. In this case, the previously generated milling pattern can be damaged, which leads to problems in the sequence of glue application and thus in the quality of the final product.
  • the attachment sheets can be supplied to the book block only during a standstill phase.
  • CH 414 544 A relates to a method for binding books on perfect binding machines, which makes it possible, labor-saving way attach the headers so that a clean connection between the book block and book cover is guaranteed.
  • the attachments are attached to the book block in the perfect binding machine only after the milling or cutting away the Bogenorganizze the book block forming sheet.
  • the attachments can be attached to the book block before the gluing of his back, so that they are detected by gluing with and adhere to the book block.
  • Out DE 100 57 599 A1 is a device for producing book covers with a cardboard feeder for feeding separated from a cardboard magazine cover cardboard and a back insert has become known.
  • the device has a utility feeder for feeding reference utility isolated from a utility magazine, wherein the supplied reference utility are formed with grippers taking over, past a glue application roller and with the supplied cover cardboard and the back insert 1966hegendem overallzylinder.
  • the apparatus is further provided with a wrapping and pressing device laying the projecting reference edges around the paperboard edges and pressing the book covers, and with an expander for laying the book covers in stacks, and with a utility feeder, paperboard feeder, utility cylinder and wrapping and Andschreibvorraumraumraum, wherein thericzu Entry, the card feeder and the impact and Andschreibvorraumetti are each driven independently.
  • Object of the present invention is to provide a method for operating a closed orbit having transport device for the processing of book block with a suitable for short runs, compact perfect binder, can be supplied with the attachment sheet after back processing to the book block and with the quality of Perfectly binding and books can be improved with reduced technical effort and a higher performance can be achieved.
  • the clamping devices are attached to or in the transport device and each have an outer pliers and arranged in the outer pliers inner pliers for the book block on. Due to this arrangement of pliers in a pair of pliers, the book block can be held throughout its residence time in the perfect binder by the inner pliers, while the outer pliers for feeding the attachment sheet is opened, thus creating the necessary space for the attachment sheet. Therefore, neither backward strokes nor encompassing of the clamping devices are required and the associated disadvantages of the prior art are eliminated. In addition, the arrangement of two such pliers allows book blocks to be picked up regardless of their block thickness and other format dimensions, i. each of the consecutive clamps can receive and transport a book block of different dimensions.
  • the outer pliers have a fixed and a movable pliers half and the inner pliers two movable pliers halves.
  • the outer pliers have two first holding elements and the inner pliers have two second holding elements, wherein the holding elements are each arranged pivotably about a common axis of rotation. Even with this alternative embodiment of the clamping device, the two pliers can be relatively easily and independently opened and closed again as needed.
  • each one of these penetrating, pocket-like recess is arranged.
  • the recesses allow a particularly simple feeding of the attachment sheet through the holding elements of the outer pliers through, wherein the attachment sheet in the clamping devices initially stored in the amount of bag bottom and later fed to the respective book block and pressed against this. Due to the short path of the attachment sheet bottom of the bag results in a relatively low drop height, thereby avoiding a "jumping" of the attachment sheet and their precise bonding with the book block can be guaranteed.
  • the clamping devices each have a first pair of pliers attached to or in the transport device and a second pliers for the book blocks at the platen attachment station, the second pliers being disposed above the first pliers and spaced therefrom.
  • Both the first and the second pliers each have a first and a second pliers half, wherein at least one pliers half is designed to be movable relative to the respective other pliers half. Due to the separate training and arrangement of the second forceps, the first forceps can be made easier.
  • the book blocks are separated from the clamping devices, i. from the first pliers, first grabbed in a lower area and conveyed to the processing stations.
  • a book block conveyed to the further processing station is grasped in an upper area by the second clamp, after which the corresponding clamping device is opened.
  • the insertion of the at least one header sheet in the open clamping device takes place.
  • the clamping device is closed again and then solved the second pliers, so that provided in this way with the attachment sheet book block is free again and can be promoted to the other processing stations.
  • the attachment of the attachment sheet is carried out in two steps, i.
  • a first step the attachment sheet above the book block and laterally spaced from this introduced into the respective clamping device and only lowered in a second step to the height of the book block and pressed against this.
  • the second step the drop height of the attachment sheet can be reduced and thus a precise bonding with the book block can be ensured.
  • the attachment of the attachment sheet can also be done in a single step.
  • the transport device is driven continuously and the attachment sheets are each fed to a forward moving clamping device in the transport direction. In this way, the performance of the perfect binder can be maximized because there are no downtimes.
  • the transport device is driven in steps and the attachment sheets are each fed to a stationary clamping device. Because the book blocks are not moved, the landing station for the attachment sheet can be made easier.
  • the processing stations and in particular the landing station for attachment sheet each have a self-propelled.
