Definitions
- the invention relates to a spacer strip, as it is used for insulating glass, to connect the glass panes with distance from each other.
- Spacers are known in various designs, with spacers made of metal hollow sections are known as well as spacers in the form of plastic bands.
- Spacers which have two carrier strips made of stainless steel. Between the carrier strip, a plastic body is provided, which is connected to the carrier strip. Thus, the carrier strips are held parallel to each other and at a distance from each other.
- a plastic mass containing molecular sieve as a desiccant is introduced in the space between the two carrier strips. Holes are provided in the strip of spacer strip inside the insulating glass so that the molecular sieve can extract moisture from the air or the gas in the space between the glass panes of the insulating glass in order to prevent the insulating glass from fogging inside.
- the "inner wall” is wider than the "outer wall", the side walls should be concave, so that room for sealing compound is given. Furthermore, the “inner wall” should have a slot, so that the distance between the panes of insulating glass can change from each other (pressure change in the interior due to changing temperature).
- a housing which receives desiccant and should project beyond the outer edge of the insulating glass.
- the housing should have the shape of a pipe or hose. An indication that the housing is compressible is missing in the DE 43 13 364 A ,
- a spacer which should have a glass layer and a base body made of polymer material.
- the main body is not flat compressible.
- the problem with these known spacers with two mutually parallel, interconnected carrier strip is that on the one hand, these are difficult to be wound up, because they are stiff, on the one hand and because they must be hermetically packed for transport, so the hygroscopic material (molecular sieve) does not lose its effectiveness, on the other hand.
- the invention has for its object to propose a spacer strip that does not have the disadvantages mentioned.
- a spacer band which is characterized in that the spacer is a spacer strip, which consists of a carrier strip and a flexible tube made of elastic material, that the tube is collapsible to reduce its height measured transversely to the longitudinal extent of the carrier strip, that the interior of the tube of the spacer band is accessible by a longitudinal slit, that the tube consists of two side walls and two inner walls facing the space between glass sheets of the insulating glass forming the slit between them, that the side walls are connected to the carrier strip, that the tube is folded in a state wound on a storage drum and that the tube is widened when the spacer tape is unwound from the storage drum and stretched and used as a spacer for insulating glass.
- the spacer strip according to the invention consists of a carrier strip and a flexible, compressible (foldable) tube of elastic material connected thereto, the spacer strip can easily be wound up when the tube is folded flat or laid flat, since it can be curved without disadvantage. If the spacer strip is then used as a spacer for insulating glass, the tube is widened, eg unfolded, which can for example already be done by the fact that the tube widens when the spacer strip is unwound from a storage drum, that is stretched. Then, in the interior of the hose, a mass is injected, which the desiccant (hygroscopic Material, eg molecular sieve).
- desiccant hygroscopic Material, eg molecular sieve
- the spacer tape of the invention may be used as a spacer in assembling insulating glass by applying it to one of the glass sheets and then laying the second glass sheet.
- the composite of the glass panes over the To improve spacer band that this is coated in its outer areas, in particular of the hose, with an adhesive strip, such as an acrylic-based adhesive, which is covered by a masking tape before use, so when rolling the spacer strip with flat folded, eg folded hose , do not stick together overlapping turns of the spacer strip.
- an adhesive strip such as an acrylic-based adhesive
- any desired embodiments are possible for the cross-sectional shape of the hose, as long as the hose can be squeezed or folded only transversely to its longitudinal extent, ie approximately perpendicular to the plane of the carrier tape or carrier strip.
- trapezoidal cross-sectional shapes, rectangular cross-sectional shapes are also contemplated, as are cross-sectional shapes with convex or concave, e.g. about sigma-shaped angled side walls.
- the middle disk of the three-pane insulating glass is held in the spacer tape, particularly in the desiccant-containing mass contained in the (unfolded) hose.
- An in Fig. 1 shown insulating glass 1 has two glass sheets 3, 5, which include a gap 7 between them.
- the space 7 is limited to the edge of the insulating glass 1 out through a spacer spacer strip 9, the discs 3, 5 at a distance connects each other.
- sealing compound 11 is introduced in the outwardly open edge joint between the spacer strip 9 and the outer edges of the glass sheets 3 and 5 sealing compound 11 is introduced.
- the spacer strip 9 is covered laterally in the region of its tube 20 with adhesive 13, which is, for example, an adhesive based on butyl rubber.
- the spacer strip 9 is in the in Fig. 1 shown embodiment of a carrier strip 21, which is for example a strip of metal, in particular stainless steel, and of a hose 20 which is connected to the carrier strip 21 in any manner, for. B. welded or glued.
- the tube 20 of the spacer strip 9 is formed by two side walls 27 and the gap 7 delimiting inner walls 29. Between the walls 29, a longitudinal slot 25 is provided, which allows that introduced in the interior of the tube 20 desiccant (molecular sieve), which may be embedded in a mass 15, can exert its effect to the space 7 of the insulating glass 1 water to escape and to prevent fogging of the insides of the glass sheets 3 and 5.
- desiccant molecular sieve
- FIGS. 2 and 3 show how the tube 20 of the spacer strip 9 from Fig. 1 is folded flat, it being considered that the folding goes so far that the side walls 27 as well as the walls 29 are substantially moved to the carrier strip 21 out.
- the tube 20 from its folded position in the in Fig. 1 shown used position expanded (unfolded) and injected in its interior via the gap 25 containing the hygroscopic material mass 15.
- adhesive 13 butyl rubber
- the spacer 9 can be used in assembling insulating glass sheets.
- the outer surfaces of the strands of adhesive 13 are shown convex, they may be flat in order to simplify the assembly of the insulating glass 1, ie to reduce the Verpressarbeit.
- Fig. 3 It is shown that on the side walls 27 of the tube 20 layers 31 may be provided of adhesive, which are covered by a cover 33, so that the layers of the spacer strip 9, when this is wound with flat folded hose 20 on storage drums, do not stick together.
- the cover tape 33 is peeled off when the spacer tape 9 is applied to one of the glass sheets 2 or 5.
- the tube 20 of the spacer strip 9 is substantially rectangular (box-shaped).
- 20 steps are provided in the lateral walls 27 of the tube to form space for receiving adhesive 13.
- This tube 20 can be folded flat by (eg parallelogrammartiges) folding its side walls 27 and bending the inner walls 29.
- the tube 20 is substantially trapezoidal in shape, the side walls 27 being formed kinked.
- the side walls 27 carry layers of adhesive 31 in their area away from the carrier strip 21.
- the tube 20 is foldable, since its side walls 27 are bent inwards, so that overall there is a sigmoid configuration of the side regions of the tube 20. In the inwardly bent portions of the side walls 27 of the adhesive 13 can be introduced.
- the tube 20 of the spacer strip 9 may have side walls 27, which are connected to each other via a wall 35. About this wall 35, the tube 20 may also be connected to the carrier strip 21.
- the in the 8 and 9 embodiment shown in which the side walls 27 are connected to each other via a wall 35, can also in the in the Fig. 1 to 6 shown embodiments can be realized as an alternative (see. Fig. 7 ). That is, the sidewalls 27 are connected (welded, bonded, and the like) to the carrier strip 21 either via their edges adjacent to the carrier strip 21, or they are connected to each other via the wall 35 and to the carrier strip 21 via the latter.
- Fig. 9 is also evident how the in Fig. 8 shown embodiment of a spacer strip 9 is formed when it is wound on a storage drum, so the tube 20 is still flattened by its inner boundary walls 29 are approximated to the carrier strip 21 and the side walls 27 are almost or completely kinked each other.
- the adhesive 13 can reach with its areas 14bis on the outside of the carrier strip 21.
- Fig. 11 It is shown that the strands of adhesive 13 on both sides of the spacer strip 9, the side edges of the carrier strip 21 overlap with areas 14 and extend to its outside in the insulating glass 1 side.
- Fig. 12 is shown using the example of a triple insulating glass that is applied in assembling adhesive 13 in two strands on the inner sides of the discs 3 and 5, wherein the strands of adhesive 13, in particular around the edge of the discs 3 and 5 extend.
- the strands of adhesive 13 in the outer recesses 28 in the side walls 27 of the tube 9 and overlap, as in principle in Fig. 10 is shown, the carrier strip 21 with their areas 14 except for its in the insulating glass 1 outside page.
- a central disc 4 of the insulating glass 1 three-pane insulating glass with its lateral edge (outer edge) in the mass 15, in which the desiccant (molecular sieve) is included, and held securely.
- the material (in particular an elastic plastic) from which the tube 20 is formed has such elasticity properties, so that the tube 20, as soon as the spacer strip 9 is unwound from the storage drum, automatically under elastic deformation of the example in Fig. 2 or Fig. 3 or Fig. 9 shown flat form in the form in which it is present in the finished spacer strip 9, as for example in the Fig. 1 and 4 to 8 is shown.
Description

- In
Fig. 7 ).
- In
- In
- In
