Definitions

  • the invention relates to a cup made of a paper material having a fillable interior, which is formed by a conical jacket and a bottom, wherein the bottom is secured at the lower end of the interior with a frame substantially liquid-tight on the jacket, wherein the jacket and / or the Floor in the region of the frame and / or the frame itself at least in the region of the circumference has an outwardly projecting widening and wherein a lower edge of the expansion forms a base for the cup.
  • the invention further relates to a method for producing a cup from a paper material, which consists of a conical jacket and a bottom secured in the region of the smaller circumference of the shell by a frame.
  • a mug of this kind is through the JP2001-192015A State of the art.
  • the frame of the well-known cup widens downwards.
  • the widening serves to fasten an outer jacket which surrounds the jacket bounding the inner space to form a cavity. Since the widening of the frame defines the distance between the inner jacket and the outer jacket, the widening of the frame must be circumferential along the circumference. A partial expansion of the frame is not possible.
  • the outer jacket is placed around the frame, turned inwards and fastened there. When attaching the outer shell to the frame, it may happen that the tightness of the frame is impaired. In addition, the attachment of the outer sheath by wrapping is very expensive.
  • the outer shell completely encloses the frame, so that it is no longer visible from the outside.
  • the outer sheath can be pressed from the inside only with a very small force, which can absorb the frame itself If the pressure force is too high, the frame can tear, on the other hand, the attachment of the outer sheath may be poor if the pressing force is too low.
  • JP 55-134046 A is a single-walled paper cup is known in which the jacket and the bottom are connected by a frame substantially liquid-tight together.
  • the frame has at its lower edge, which forms a base for the cup, a thickening, which is formed by suitable compression of the lower edge of the frame.
  • the thickening projects radially outwardly and is intended to engage a radially outwardly extending bead on the inner shell of a lower cup when multiple cups are stacked together.
  • several, radially outwardly projecting beads are provided on the inner shell of the cup, which engage in stacking a plurality of cups on the inside of the mouth roll of a lower cup or in further beads on the inner surface of the lower cup.
  • GB 2 420 267 A is a double-walled paper cup known.
  • the paper cup has on its inner shell above the bottom of a projecting into the interior shoulder. This shoulder is intended to form a support surface for the lower, rolled-up edge of the outer shell of a respective upper cup when stacking a plurality of cups.
  • the frame is a very important element of the cup.
  • the frame is necessary for the connection between the jacket and the floor.
  • At the frame are at least two layers of material in the thickness direction to each other, namely the material of the bottom and the material of the inner space bounding shell.

  • the at least two material layers are thus preferably arranged along the wall of the cup-shaped bottom.
  • the jacket is wrapped around the material of the floor, and that the frame consists of three or more layers of material.
  • the material of the bottom is glued or sealed to the material of the jacket in the region of the frame in order to be liquid-tight at least for a certain period of time.
  • paper material from which the bottom and the jacket are made can be understood as meaning different materials which have at least one layer of paper, cardboard or cardboard.
  • the material may comprise one or more layers of plastic and / or aluminum.
  • the paper material is waxed or painted in order to have a resistance to the liquid to be filled into the interior.
  • the paper material is at least on the side bounding the interior with a thin plastic layer, preferably made of polyethylene, coated.
  • the moldability and in particular the extensibility of such paper material is limited. Too much deformation, the paper material itself or even a proposed coating tear, so that the tightness is impaired.

  • the expansion is not or not completely covered by an outer shell, so that the material of the shell or the floor immediately forms the base.
  • the frame can not be impaired in its tightness by the attachment of the additional material of the outer shell.
  • the expansion is continuous and uniform along the circumference. When the paper material is coated, it is advantageous to make the expansion only so great that the coating does not tear.

  • the well-known cup points to a Outer jacket, which surrounds the inner space bounding shell with a heat-insulating cavity, a second means for holding.
  • the second means for holding is formed by an inwardly directed curl mounted at the lower end of the outer shell.
  • the well-known cup has the disadvantage that the forces occurring during stacking are transmitted via the jacket bounding the interior and over the outer jacket.
  • the forces that must be passed within the cup from the first means for holding to the second means for holding, are first transmitted through the inner space bounding sheath to the connection point between the inner shell and outer shell and passed through this connection point to the outer shell.
  • the forces are then forwarded to the trained as Einrollung second means for holding and transferred there to the next cup.
  • both the inner shell and the outer jacket must be designed to be stable enough to absorb the forces occurring.
  • the joint between the outer shell and the inner shell must be designed for the maximum forces occurring.
  • the design freedom of the cup after the EP 1 227 042 B1 is disadvantageously limited because the attached to the outer jacket second means for holding must always be adapted to the dimensions of the first means for holding another cup of the same kind and to the forces to be transmitted. It is not possible to provide the outer shell with any shape, or to change its shape as desired. In addition, it is not possible to omit, if necessary, the outer shell, without losing the good stacking properties.

  • the cup according to the invention has the advantage that it can be stacked safely and stably even without the presence of an outer jacket and can also be unstacked again without jamming. If it is provided to associate the cup with a heat-insulating outer jacket, it can be largely independent and free from the cup of the EP 1 227 042 B1 design existing restrictions. The forces occurring during stacking are forwarded only within the jacket delimiting the interior from the first means for holding to the second means for holding. An outer jacket is therefore not absolutely necessary. If, nevertheless, an outer sheath is to be present, then this is not claimed by the forces occurring during stacking.
  • the frame, by which the jacket bounding the interior space is connected to the floor, is a very stable part of the cup and is particularly well suited for absorbing forces.
  • the forces occurring during stacking are essentially determined by the jacket delimiting the interior from the first means for holding on the second means for holding, which can be formed by the widening on the frame. transfer. Below are with the help of FIGS. 4 to 7 some possible embodiments for such outer shells described.
  • Each of the cups 1 shown has a heat-insulating outer jacket 417, 517, 617 and 717 which partially surrounds the jacket 2 delimiting the inner space 5 to form a cavity 18.
  • Such cups are also referred to as double-walled insulating cup, in which the located inside the outer shell 417, 517, 617, 717 jacket 2 in conjunction with the bottom 3 can also be referred to as "inner cup”.
  • the first means 7 for holding another cup 1 'of the same kind and the second means 9 for holding are analogous to those in FIG FIG. 1 designed variant, so that can be dispensed with a repeated description.
  • a first means 7 is formed to hold.
  • the outer sheath 417, 517, 617 and 717 is pushed and fixed to the inner space 5 limiting coat 2.
  • the second means 9 is formed for holding. This has the advantage that the second means 9 for holding the pushing on of the outer sheath 417, 517, 617, 717 does not hinder, and that, for example, the dimension Y of the widening 10 can be greater than the inner contour of the outer sheath 417, 517, 617, 717.
  • the outer jacket 417 of in FIG. 4 Cup 1 shown is arranged substantially parallel to the inner space bounding jacket 2. Die Mantel 2 ist mit dem Gepatiuse 2sky.
  • the outer shell 417 has at an upper and at a lower end in each case an inwardly directed curl 419 and 420 and is supported by the curls 419 and 420 on the inner space 5 bounding shell 2 from. It can be provided that the outer jacket 417 is fixed in the region of the curl 419 and / or 420, for example by gluing.
  • the height of the outer jacket 417 may be different as required by the curl 420 'shown in dashed lines.
  • a height of the outer jacket 417 which corresponds to the curl 420 shown, in which the outer shell 417 ends above the widening 10 of the frame 4 and below the bottom 3.
  • the distance E between the outer shell 417 and the Expansion 10 about 1 to 2 mm.
  • Such a height of the outer jacket 417 ensures the accessibility of the frame 4 in the height range B from the outside, even when already pushed on outer jacket 417, so that a shaping of the widening 10 is not hindered by a radially externally supplied tool by the outer jacket 417.
  • the curl 420 is supported in the region of the frame 4 on the inner shell 5, whereby the outer jacket 417 is very stable.
  • the outer jacket 417 also conceals the first means 7 for holding, so that this is not recognizable from the outside.
  • the bead 48 is in contrast to FIG. 1 shaped outwards.
  • the force-absorbing capacity of the means 7 for holding can be increased because the stretched paper material of the bead 48 has a higher stability than the compressed paper material of the bead 8 of FIG FIG. 1 having.
  • FIG. 5 has the interior 5 limiting jacket 2 in the area below the mouth roll 6 on a sudden change in size in the form of a shoulder 21, which is seen from the bottom 3 to the mouth roll 6 represents a sudden cross-sectional widening.
  • the outer sheath 517 is in the area between the mouth roll 6 and the shoulder 21 with the inner space 5 limiting sheath 2, for example, by sealing or gluing, connected.
  • the outer jacket 517 has an inwardly directed curl 520 analogous to the curl 420, which may also be located further up in the position 520 'indicated by dashed lines.
  • An outer jacket 517 ending above the bottom 3 often has a sufficient insulating effect and has the advantage that the material requirement for the outer jacket 517 is reduced.
  • the height position of the curl 520 may alternatively according to the under FIG. 4 described selection criteria and are below.
  • the means 7 for holding is designed here as a rounded rib 58, wherein the rib 58 does not need to be embossed completely encircling, but can very advantageously consist of punctiform impressions in the jacket 2.
  • Deviating from the presentation of FIG. 5 can the cup 1 in the region of the shoulder 21 also be designed differently.
  • An advantageous variant in the region of the shoulder 21 is in FIG. 5A shown greatly enlarged.
  • the area 25 of the shell 2 between the mouth roll 6 and the shoulder 21 runs approximately parallel to the center axis 13.
  • the outer shell 517 can be pushed a little under the mouth roll 6 when pushed onto the inner cup 1, the upper edge portion 26 of the outer shell 517th slightly bruised.
  • the edge region 26 does not continue the conical outer shell 517 uniformly, but instead has a slightly smaller diameter. If the outer sheath 517, as in FIG. 5A , shown with its upper edge a little inserted into the mouth roll 16, the result is a particularly good appearance of the cup 1, since the upper edge of the outer shell 517 is no longer visible. If the outer sheath 517 inserted in an unillustrated embodiment further into the mouth roll 6, so already causes the clamping of the outer sheath 517 by the material of the mouth roll 6 a fixation of the outer sheath 517. For certain applications, the clamping of the outer sheath 517 in the mouth roll 6 as only attachment of the outer jacket 517 be sufficient.
  • FIG. 6 shows a variant of an outer sheath 617, in which the cavity 18 has its greatest thickness in the upper region and increasingly tapers towards the bottom.
  • an inwardly directed curl 619 is provided, which can be supported on the jacket 5 delimiting the inner space 5.
  • the outer sheath 617 can likewise end above the frame 4 or, as shown, end shortly above the widening 10 with a distance E and, for example, be sealed flat there.
  • An alternative shows the FIG. 6A in which the outer jacket 617 likewise does not run parallel to the jacket 2.
  • the outer sheath 617 ' is supported with a curl 620 analogous to the curl 420 on the casing 2.
  • the cup 1 of FIG. 6A has no bead 68.
  • the expansion 10 acts without further means for stacking with another cup 1 'of the same kind together and is based directly on the interior 5 limiting jacket 2 from.
  • an outer sheath 717 is shown, which encloses the inner space 5 limiting sheath 2 closely and substantially rests substantially on the entire surface.
  • Such an outer jacket 717 may be sufficient if the requirements for the insulating effect of the cup 1 are not particularly high.
  • a close-fitting outer sheath 717 improve the stability of the cup 1, since the sheath 2 is supported virtually on its entire height on the outer shell 717.
  • the fixation of the outer jacket 717 is preferably done again by sealing or gluing, the fixation can be done in individual areas or even over the entire area.
  • outward embossings 23 may be provided in the outer jacket 717.
  • the embossings 23 may be design elements for the design of the cup, which identify the contained product, for example in the form of a lettering. However, the embossings 23 can also be used in order to increase the insulating effect of the outer jacket 717 in certain areas, since below the embossments 23 again cavities 18 arise. For example, the embossings 23 can be arranged precisely in the areas on the cup 1 at which the contact points to a hand gripping the cup 1 are located.
  • the dimension Y of the second means 9 is adapted to the dimension X of the first means 7 to hold another cup 1 'of the same kind. If the dimensions X and Y in the cups 1 of FIGS. 4 to 7 with the different outer shells 417, 517, 617 and 717 are identical, all these cups 1 can be stacked in any combination with each other without jamming, since all outer shells 417, 517, 617 and 717 within the space 16 between the parallel 15 and the interior 5 forming jacket 2 lie.
  • the outer side 22 of the outer shells 417, 517, 617, 717 may have different structures.
  • the outer side 22 may, for example, be corrugated, embossed, corrugated or have a foamed coating. It can also be provided to perform the outer sheath 417, 517, 617, for example, corrugated and in addition to provide on the outer side 22 a smooth cover of the wave structure in the form of another shell to further improve the insulating effect of the cup 1.
  • the embodiment of the outer jacket 417 with an upper curl 419 or the attachment of the outer jacket 517 in the region of a shoulder 21 of the shell 2 have the advantage that even in a region just below the mouth roll 6, a very wide cavity 18 between shell 2 and outer shell 417, 517 is created, which has a very high insulation effect.
  • the curl 419 or the shoulder 21 ensure even without additional means, such as foamed layers or corrugated layers within the cavity 18, that the distance between the shell 2 and outer shell 417 and 517, even under pressure, for example, by a cross hand, not reduced and the insulation effect is lost.
  • FIG. 9 are shown in the individual representations A to K in schematic form different design options of the cup 1 in the frame 4.
  • the frame 4 is always formed by three layers of material, namely two layers of material of the shell 2, which surround the wall 31 of the cup-shaped bottom 3 inside and outside.
  • This embodiment is very often advantageous, but is not mandatory to implement the present invention.
  • the variants described below may also be advantageous.
  • FIG. 9C The material of the shell 2 and the wall 31 of the bottom 3 both end at the lower edge 14 and thereby form the footprint.
  • FIG. 9D is the material of the shell 2 turned inside, but without covering the material of the bottom 3 in the region of the wall 31.
  • the joint 24 between the material of the shell 2 and the bottom 3 may be at different heights, for example, exactly at the boundary between the height range B and C. In this case, the material of the bottom 3 is not widened during the formation of the expansion 10. The expansion is introduced only in the double-lying material of the shell 2.
  • the wall 31 of the cup-shaped bottom 3 extends only over the height range C and serves to seal the fillable interior 5.
  • the frame 4 after Figure 9E is analog FIG. 9D trained, however, here the material of the soil in the height range B is turned over to the outside.
  • the material of the shell 2 extends only over the height range C.
  • the inclination angle ⁇ is preferably greater than the inclination angle ⁇ .
