- the inventive method with the characterizing features of claim 1 has the advantage that in a simple way and Way, the manufacturing cost of the device can be reduced by the pressure sensor is operatively connected to the pressure line downstream of the feed pump and upstream of the check valve. In this way, at different times with a single pressure sensor, both the pressure in the pressure line and in the reservoir can be detected. The additional pressure sensor in the reservoir can be saved.
- the pressure sensor has a temperature sensor, since in this way additionally the temperature of the fuel sucked from the reservoir is determined.
- the pressure sensor is used for the pressure detection in the pressure line and for the pressure detection in the reservoir.
- the measurement signal of the pressure sensor is used as a control variable for a control of the feed pump and / or for a leak diagnosis in the pressure line and / or for a tank leak diagnosis.
- the pressure sensor can take over one or more of the aforementioned functions. There are no additional components required.
- in the tank leak diagnosis is a leak in the reservoir closed, if after a predetermined diagnostic time, a pressure change is measured, which is greater than a predetermined pressure change, wherein before the start of the tank leak diagnosis, an overpressure or negative pressure in the reservoir is present.
- a pressure change is measured which is smaller than a predetermined pressure change, wherein atmospheric pressure prevails in the storage container before the start of the tank leak diagnosis.
- leak diagnosis is closed to a leak in the pressure line downstream of the check valve when the measurement signal of the pressure sensor drops below a predetermined value.
- the drawing shows an inventive device for conveying fuel.
- the device according to the invention has a storage container 1 with a storage container 2, for example arranged therein, in which a feed pump 3 is arranged, the fuel stored in the reservoir 1, for example via a pre-filter 4 and a suction line 5 sucks from the storage container 2 and pressure increases via a pressure line 8, for example, promotes a fuel distributor 9 of an internal combustion engine 10.
- the fuel rail 9 is defined as part of the pressure line 8.
- the fuel distributor 9 is connected to a plurality of injection valves 11, which inject the fuel in a manner not shown in a suction pipe or cylinder of the internal combustion engine 10.
- the pressure line 8 downstream can also be connected to a high-pressure pump of a so-called gasoline direct injection or a diesel injection system, which injects the fuel under high pressure in the fuel rail and injectors in cylinders of the internal combustion engine 10.
- the example provided storage container 2 stores enough fuel to ensure a fuel supply to the engine 10 is ensured by the feed pump 3, even if, for example, by cornering and consequent sloshing of the fuel in the reservoir 1, no fuel in the storage tank 2 is promoted.
- the storage container 2 is filled in a known manner via a not shown, fed by the feed pump 3 suction jet pump, which promotes fuel from the reservoir 1 into the storage container 2.
- the storage container 2 is arranged with its bottom of the pot 12 near a container bottom 15 of the storage container 1.
- the feed pump 3 is for example a flow pump which is electrically driven by an actuator, for example an armature of an electric motor, but can also be any other pump.
- the prefilter 4 protects the device downstream of the prefilter 4 from coarse dirt particles contained in the fuel.
- a check valve 16 is arranged, which prevents backflow of fuel from downstream of the check valve 16 upstream of the check valve 16 and in this way the built-up of the feed pump 3 in the pressure line 8 overpressure in the pressure line. 8 downstream of the check valve 16 even after switching off the feed pump 3 maintains.
- a main filter 17 is provided, which filters out the fine dirt particles contained in the fuel.
- a branch line 18 branches off from the pressure line 8.
- the branch line 18 is connected to a pressure regulator 19, which opens at a pressure in the pressure line 8, which is greater than a predetermined opening pressure, and fuel from the pressure line 8 via the branch line 18, the open pressure regulator 19 and a return line 22 into the storage container 2 runs back. In this way, the pressure in the pressure line 8 is kept at a constant value.
- the device has a pressure sensor 23, which is operatively connected via a connecting line 24 to the pressure line 8 downstream of the feed pump 3 and upstream of the check valve 16, for example fluidly connected.
- the pressure sensor 23 measures, for example, a differential pressure to the atmosphere or an absolute pressure.
- a measured signal corresponding to the measured pressure of the pressure sensor 23 is conducted via a signal line 26 to an electronic engine control 29.
- the pressure sensor 23 is used according to the invention for the pressure detection in the pressure line 8 and for the pressure detection in the reservoir 1.
- the measuring signal of the pressure sensor 23 is used for example as a so-called controlled variable for controlling the feed pump 3, so that only the amount of fuel to the fuel rail 9 is promoted, which is required in the respective operating state of the internal combustion engine 10. Therefore, the feed pump 3 requires less electric power than an unregulated, independent of the operating condition of the engine 10 at full power running feed pump 3. This leads to a significant fuel economy.
- the branch line 18 with the pressure regulator 19 and the return line 22 omitted.
- the measuring signal of the pressure sensor 23 can also serve as a so-called control variable for controlling a high pressure pump arranged in the pressure line 8 downstream of the check valve 16 with the same advantages mentioned above.
- the pressure sensor 23 can also be used for a leak diagnosis in the pressure line 8,9.
- a leak diagnosis is closed to a leak in the pressure line 8.9 when the measurement signal of the pressure sensor 23 falls when the feed pump 3 is below a predetermined value.
- the pressure sensor 23 is used according to the invention for a tank leak diagnosis.
- Known manner work tank leak diagnosis such that the time course of an existing in the reservoir 1 overpressure or negative pressure is measured.
- the overpressure or negative pressure in the reservoir 1 can be generated by means of a pump.
- the natural heating of the reservoir 1 after stopping the engine 10 of a vehicle can be used, which causes a slight increase in pressure in the reservoir 1.
- the tank leak diagnosis is carried out, for example, after switching off the internal combustion engine 10, when the reservoir 1 is hermetically sealed from the environment.
- the feed pump 3 is turned off, the check valve 16 is closed and a leading from the reservoir 1 to the internal combustion engine 10, not shown tank vent line closed by closing a provided in the tank vent line tank vent valve.

- the pressure sensor 23 measures the pressure in the pressure line 8 downstream of the feed pump 3 and upstream of the check valve 16.
- the check valve 16 When the feed pump 3, the check valve 16 is opened because of the fuel delivery in the direction of the internal combustion engine 10, so that the pressure in the pressure line 8 downstream of the feed pump 3 and upstream of the check valve 16 minus pressure losses of the check valve 16 and the pressure line 8, the pressure in the pressure line 8 downstream of the check valve 16 and the pressure in the fuel rail 9 corresponds.
- the pressure in the pressure line 8 downstream of the check valve 16 and the pressure in the fuel rail 9 is referred to below as system pressure.
- the motor controller 29 corrects the measurement signal of the pressure sensor 23 by the pressure loss, for example, the check valve 16, the main filter 17 and / or the pressure line 8.9.
- the suction line. 5 and the prefilter 4 is fluidly connected to the storage container 2, composed of a pressure component referred to below as gas pressure of a gas formed from Krafstoffdämpfen and air above a liquid level 25 in the reservoir 1 and storage container 2 and a hydrostatic pressure component, which is dependent on a level in the reservoir 1 and in the storage container 2 and by the pressure of a so-called liquid column above the branch line 24 is formed.
- the pressure sensor 23 with the pump 3 switched off does not measure the gas pressure, but a pressure which is composed of the gas pressure and a hydrostatic, dependent on the level of pressure component. It is not necessary to correct the measuring signal of the pressure sensor 23 by the hydrostatic pressure component, since the level in the reservoir 1 and in the storage container 2 during the tank leak diagnosis remains constant and only the pressure change in the reservoir 1 is monitored.
- the tank leak diagnosis can be started according to any criterion become. If the overpressure or underpressure in the reservoir 1 already exists before the start of the tank leak diagnosis, for example, by a pump or by natural, temperature-induced pressure build-up, a leak is closed, if after a predetermined Diagnosis time a pressure change is determined which is greater than a predetermined pressure change. This conclusion results from the fact that the pressure or negative pressure in the reservoir 1 is reduced by a leak, whereby a pressure change is set, which is greater than the predetermined pressure change.
