Definitions

  • the invention relates to a hearing aid device system with two head-worn hearing aids for binaural care of a hearing aid wearer, the hearing aid each having an input transducer for receiving an input signal and conversion to an electrical signal, a signal processing unit for processing and frequency-dependent amplification of the electrical signal and an output transducer for the conversion of in the hearing aid devices, parameters for controlling the signal processing in the signal processing units are adjustable for adapting the signal processing to different auditory situations and wherein control signals can be transmitted between the two hearing aids for adaptation in a hearing aid set parameters to the parameters set in the other hearing aid. Furthermore, the invention relates to a method for operating such a hearing aid device system.
  • Hearing aids usually have an audio input for connection to external devices such as radio, television, CD players, MP3 players, etc.
  • the connection between the hearing aid and the external device is either wireless or wired.
  • the hearing aid in question is connected to the audio reception with a so-called "audio shoe”. Starting from the audio shoe, a wire can then lead to the external device.
  • audio shoes which include a transmitting and receiving unit for wireless data transmission between the hearing aid and an external device.
  • Such wireless systems are used for example in training rooms for the hard of hearing and are known under the name "MLX”.
  • Hearing aid systems for the binaural care of a deaf person are often operated asymmetrically for audio reception. Only one of the two hearing aids is connected to the audio signal source. In this mode of operation, the adjustment of settings of the two hearing aid devices of the hearing aid system is impractical.
  • Object of the present invention is to provide a meaningful in terms of their settings coupling two hearing aids of a binaural hearing aid system in audio reception.
  • a hearing aid device system with two head-worn hearing aids for the binaural supply of a hearing aid wearer, the hearing aid each having an input transducer for receiving an input signal and conversion into an electrical signal, a signal processing unit for processing and frequency-dependent amplification of the electrical signal and an output transducer for converting the processed signal into a perceptible by the hearing aid wearer signal as an audible signal, wherein the hearing aid parameters for controlling the signal processing in the signal processing units are adjustable to adapt the signal processing to different auditory situations and whereby control signals can be transmitted between the two hearing aid devices for adapting the parameters set in a hearing aid device to the parameters set in the other hearing aid device, in that in a hearing situation for "audio reception" the adjustment of the set parameters between the two hearing aids is at least partially prevented is.
  • an input signal is recorded by means of an input transducer and converted into an electrical input signal.
  • an input transducer usually serves as an input transducer at least one microphone which receives an acoustic input signal.
  • Modern hearing aids often include a microphone system with a plurality of microphones to a dependent of the direction of incidence acoustic signals reception, a Directional characteristic to achieve.
  • the input transducers may also include a telecoil or antenna for receiving electromagnetic input signals.
  • the input signals converted by the input transducer into electrical input signals are fed to a signal processing unit for further processing and amplification. The further processing and amplification takes place to compensate for the individual hearing loss of a hearing aid wearer, as a rule, as a function of the signal frequency.
  • the signal processing unit outputs an electrical output signal, which is fed via an output transducer to the hearing of the hearing aid wearer, so that the latter perceives the output signal as an acoustic signal.
  • output transducers usually listeners are used, which generate an acoustic output signal.
  • output transducers for generating mechanical vibrations are also known, which directly excite certain parts of the ear, such as the ossicles, to vibrate.
  • output transducers are known which directly stimulate neurons of the ear.
  • Hearing aids are usually by different modes (hearing programs) adjustable to different listening situations. Such auditory situations are, for example, "quiet environment", “television”, “conversation in noise”, etc.
  • Another hearing situation is the audio reception in which the hearing aid is connected via an electrical or electromagnetic connection directly to an audio signal source.
  • the coupling in the auditory situation "audio reception" is at least largely interrupted. This means that manual settings on one of the two hearing aids or automatically performed parameter changes no longer affect the other hearing aid.
  • a hearing aid which is placed in the active audio mode sends a control signal to the second hearing aid and thus puts this automatically in the passive audio mode, if the second hearing aid is not also in the active audio mode.
  • the special settings of the hearing aid device in the active or passive audio mode can preferably be adjusted during the adaptation of the hearing aid by a hearing aid acoustician.
  • the signal source corresponding to the request of the hearing aid wearer can thereby be used as the input signal of the relevant hearing aid device.
  • the microphone signal is obvious in order to be able to perceive outside noise, or also to mute the hearing aid device.
  • the mutual control of setting parameters in the binaural hearing aid system is at least largely eliminated. If an audio reception is provided in both hearing aid devices, preferably no interaction at all takes place in this mode of operation at all.
  • a remote control is included in the hearing aid system, their operation may affect both hearing aids. For example, a volume adjustment lead to a relative change in the volume setting of both hearing aids, the set balance is maintained because of the canceled absolute value coupling.
  • a program changeover carried out by means of the remote control preferably only leads to an adaptation of the hearing aid device in the audio mode to different signal sources, e.g. pure audio reception or mixed operation "audio reception” and "microphone reception". A hearing aid in the passive audio mode is then not affected by such a program switch.
  • the hearing aid system preferably returns to the settings concerning the hearing aids, which it before recording the audio Operation had.
  • the hearing aid device formerly operated in the active audio mode presets the volume setting, and the second hearing aid device is slowly adapted to this setting ("fading") if the volume is required.
  • the figure shows a hearing aid system with a hearing aid device 1 which can be worn behind the left ear and a hearing aid device 2 which can be worn behind the right ear for the binaural supply of a hearing aid wearer.
  • a microphone 10 or 14 is used to record an acoustic input signal and conversion into an electrical signal.
  • This is further processed in each case in a signal processing unit 11 or 15 and amplified in response to the signal frequency to compensate for the individual hearing loss of the hearing aid wearer.
  • the processed and amplified signal is in each case converted back into an acoustic signal by means of a receiver 12 or 16 and supplied to the hearing aid wearer via the sound channels 13 and 17 and sound tubes (not shown) connected thereto.
  • wireless coupling is provided so that automatically or manually performed changes in settings in one of the two hearing aids show effects on the other hearing aid. If e.g. operated by the volume control 4 or by pressing the program selection button 3, the hearing aid 1 manually, so the volume is changed or the active hearing program switched without the need to operate the program selection button 5 and the volume control 6 in the hearing aid 2.
  • the hearing aid device system is in the audio mode, since at least one of the hearing aid devices (hearing aid device 1) is connected to an audio shoe 7. In the exemplary embodiment, this is attached to the lower end of the hearing aid 1.
  • the audio shoe 7 in the exemplary embodiment comprises a receiving unit for the wireless reception of an electromagnetic signal emanating from an audio signal source.
  • the audio signal source is executed in the embodiment as a CD player 8 with a transmitter.
  • operation of the controls 3 or 4 has no effect on the Hearing aid device 2.
  • an actuation of the operating elements 5 or 6 on the hearing aid 2 does not affect the hearing aid device 1.
  • the hearing aid 1 When attaching the audio shoe 7 on the hearing aid 1 this is switched to the active audio mode. Thereafter, the hearing aid 1 sends a signal to the hearing aid 2, which is not connected to an audio shoe and is therefore placed in the passive audio mode.
  • the hearing aid device 2 In the passive audio mode, the hearing aid device 2 is set in accordance with the user's specifications set in the programming of the hearing aid device 2, e.g. on microphone reception or mute. Apart from the transfer of the hearing aid 2 in the passive audio mode by the hearing aid 1 takes place during the audio operation no further mutual interference of the hearing aid 1 and 2.
  • the hearing aid 1 After completion of the audio mode, i. by releasing the audio shoe 7 from the hearing aid 1, the hearing aid 1 falls back to the original operating mode in which it had been before the beginning of the audio mode. Furthermore, a signal is transmitted from the hearing aid device 1 to the hearing aid device 2, which also indicates this to the end of the audio operation and returns it to the original operating mode.
  • the hearing aid system further comprises a remote control 9.
  • This has the labeled program with 1 to 4 program buttons for program selection and a rocker switch 18 for volume adjustment.
  • a program change by pressing one of the labeled 1 to 4 keys only affects the hearing aid 1 from.
  • a change in the volume setting by actuation of the rocker switch 18, on the other hand has an effect on both hearing aid devices 1 and 2 in that the volume is raised or lowered by a certain amount in both hearing aid devices 1 and 2.
  • a meaningful adjustment of the hearing aid devices is also achieved in audio mode by direct operation of one of the two hearing aid devices or by operation of the hearing aid system by means of a remote control.
  • the remote control also remains useful in connection with a binaural hearing aid system with coupled settings with one or two-sided use of an audio shoe.
  • the hearing aid system automatically adapts to the preferences of the hearing aid wearer in this particular hearing situation.
