Definitions
- the invention relates to a sharpener for a pen, in particular a Cosmetic pencil.
- a sharpener is commonly used to sharpen the lead of a pencil and thereby peeling off an optional mine casing.
- a sharpener comprises a roughly cuboidal sharpener body, in which a substantially circular cone-shaped pointed cone as a guide for the Pen tip is introduced such that its lateral surface an outer surface of the Sharp body touched about. In the vicinity of this tangent is the pointed cone via a chip ejection slot to the adjacent outer surface of the sharpener body opened.
- a sharpener further includes a paring knife that is tangential with respect to the lateral surface of the pointed cone is mounted on the sharpener body and protrudes with a cutting edge in the Spanausschlitz, so that when twisted a pin inserted into the pointed cone opposite the sharpener body a chip lifted off the pin by the cutting edge of the peeling knife becomes.
- pins with hard lead material are often pins with softer, more plastic Mine used.
- cosmetic pencils are usually among these mentioned softwood pencils. When you point a softwood pencil occurs reinforced the problem on that the peeled soft lead material in the pointed cone or sticking to the paring knife and forming lumpy residues. This can cause soiling or smearing of the pin surface Pointed process or even obstruction of the pointed cone or other Impairment of Spitz function and is therefore undesirable.
- Special sharpeners for soft pencils are therefore often with a comparatively wide chip ejection slot and / or one opposite the sharpener blade Opening the pointed cone provided to facilitate the ejection of the mine mass and the peeling knife and tip of the pointed cone for the purpose of cleaning easier to access.
