- a method for reducing the proportion of accompanying elements in the molten copper is a suitable Prescribe oxygen content of the molten copper and As a result, possibly accompanying elements included to bind specifically.
- the rest Part of the oxides is harmless to the electrical Conducted at the grain boundaries, so that the in the companion bound to the oxides is no longer in the copper matrix are solved.
- Products made from high purity copper melts e.g. Wires or profiles
- wires / profiles of high-purity copper after Cold forming requires a relatively lower recrystallization temperature although that is desirable in some applications is bothering in many applications, however, because the production or operational requirements of the thermal stability (i.e., retention of mechanical Properties even at elevated temperatures) not can be met.
- the object of the present invention is a copper wire the type mentioned in the introduction to produce such that an optimal combination of the mentioned material properties is reached.
- a hydrogen-resistant Produced wire with high electrical conductivity be after the required manufacturing steps due to its homogeneous structure with small grain sizes cheaper offers mechanical property combinations. additionally should set the thermal resistance targeted become.
- This object is achieved in that on Basis of a high-purity copper melt a quotient from the Weight percentage of the companion and the proportion by weight of one in close tolerances adjusted oxygen content Value in the interval from 0.8 to 1.7 and that the weight fraction of the companion along a wire length by a maximum 25% based on the maximum weight of the companion varied.
- Another object of the invention is to provide a method of Initially mentioned type to improve such that the production of copper wires with optimized material properties is supported or enabled.
- This object is achieved in that the Copper melt to a solidification in relation to an ambient atmosphere is protected and that the companion in a quantity is added in such a way that a quotient of the Weight percentage of the companion and the proportion by weight of one specifically set oxygen content in the copper melt set to a value in the interval from 0.8 to 1.7 and the quotient along the wire length substantially is kept constant.
- An additional object of the invention is a Device of the type mentioned in the opening paragraph to construct such that the production of a copper wire with optimized and even with large production quantities essentially constant material properties is supported.
- a Dosing device for zulegierung at least one companion is connected to a dosing control with at least a sensor for detecting a furnace weight and connected to a device for detecting a casting performance is.
- the proportion by weight according to the invention of the companion as well as the residual oxygen content can both a high conductivity as well as a good combination of mechanical Properties (strength, elongation, fatigue strength) and a hydrogen resistance of the copper wire be achieved.
- the inventive proportion of the companion allows formation of a solidification of the molten copper both in terms of electrical conductivity as well as with regard to the mechanical properties optimized Grain boundaries at a small average grain size.
- Another advantageous choice of material is that the companion is formed of boron.
- the desired material optimization can be characterized in particular be achieved that the companion with a share from 5 ppm to 60 ppm in copper.
- a typical realization is that in the reaction product tied companions at least partially attached to the respective grain boundaries.
- a metrological detection of the amount of copper contained Companion is supported by a salary of the companion in the copper of at least one test probe is detected.
- a simple metrological detection is supported thereby, that the content of the companion from the test probe in Area of the molten copper is detected.
- a metrological detection of the final product can be done by the content of the companion is detected by the probe in the field of solidified wire.
- a typical procedure is that over the content of the companion in the copper, the conductivity of the copper is adjusted.
- a production variant is that the copper wire is produced by direct casting.
- Another variant of the method, in particular involving a post-forming heat treatment is that the copper wire by cold forming is produced.
- a typical alloy location is defined by the fact that the Companion is added to the copper in the region of a groove.
- a comparatively small flow rate in the area of the metering device can be achieved by the companion the copper essentially in the form of a pure substance is supplied.
- a further homogenization of the material quality can be achieved in that an oxygen content of the copper melt measured and that measurement result of the dosing is supplied.
- a uniform material quality even with changing Input parameters is supported by the fact that the proportion of the companion contained in the copper detected by measurement and in a closed loop using the Dosing control and the metering along the Wire length is kept substantially constant.
- a common effect of a plurality in the molten copper included companion can be taken into account, that of the metering the total content of the copper at all companions in the dosage of the selected Companion to determine the dosing amount considered becomes.
- the furnace is designed as a melting furnace.
- the furnace is designed as a casting furnace.
- a determination of the oxygen content of the copper melt is supported by the fact that the dosing with a Sensor for detecting an oxygen content of the copper melt connected is.
- Fig. 1 shows the dependence of the electrical conductivity of copper with the addition of appropriate amounts of Companions. It can generally be seen that the conductivity with a rising salary of the companion clearly decreases. The strength of the decrease is of the respective Companion dependent. The strongest decrease in conductivity in the companion exemplified by phosphorus causes the least decrease in conductivity by cadmium.
- Fig. 2 shows the dependence of the conductivity of a copper wire made of recrystallized copper with a phosphorus content less than 1 ppm and different Iron contents. Within the usual dispersion lies in the shown area an approximately linear relationship between the electrical conductivity and the iron content in front.
- Fig. 3 shows the dependence of the electrical conductivity a copper wire of recrystallized copper in Dependence on a phosphorus content on the one hand Oxygen content of less than 5 ppm and the other at an oxygen content in the range of 30 to 40 ppm. Also here lies in the illustrated area a substantially linear dependency.
- Fig. 4 illustrates the dependence of the specific electrical conductivity of a copper wire in dependence from the phosphorus content. In addition, explicitly is the functional dependence indicated.
- Fig. 5 illustrates the change in tensile strength a cold worked copper wire depending on the Temperature of an upstream annealing treatment in the presence different companion or different Accompanying amounts (recrystallization curves). For comparison the curve for oxygen-free pure copper is plotted. It can be seen that an increasing proportion in particular of phosphorus as a companion a significant increase in the recrystallization temperature entails.
- high purity electrolytic copper is used with a copper content greater than 99.95% by weight used and as companion phosphor with a Proportion in the range of 5 ppm to 60 ppm added.
- a copper content greater than 99.95% by weight used and as companion phosphor with a Proportion in the range of 5 ppm to 60 ppm added.
- FIG. 5 leads such a Phosphorus content only to a relatively small decrease the electrical conductivity, but according to FIG. 5 to a significant increase in tensile strength after certain Cold forming and heat treatments.
- alternative to use phosphorus prove to be a companion Boron or lithium as beneficial.
- the alloyed with the copper Companion is on the one hand at the grain boundaries the individual crystallization grains of copper (as oxide or sometimes elementary), another share of Companion is also stored in the crystallization grid itself. The combined storage of the companion both within the grid as well as at the grain boundaries leads to particularly favorable processing properties.
- Fig. 6 shows an exemplary grain structure for a copper wire according to the embodiment after heat treatment in a reducing atmosphere with 100% hydrogen, a treatment temperature of 850 ° C and a treatment time of 30 minutes.
- Fig. 7 shows a conventional one oxygen-containing material after a similar Treatment.
- Fig. 6 thus illustrates the much smaller Grain structures and the spatially sparsely extended Dimensioning of grain boundaries. (Note: should these pictures also be drawn? Otherwise I have better pictures get made)
- Fig. 8 illustrates the structure of an apparatus for producing of the copper wire.
- One produced in a furnace (1) Copper melt (2) is fed to a casting device (3).
- One of the pouring device (3) provided Raw profile (4) is in a subsequent finishing device (5) formed into a copper wire (6).
- the furnace (1) stands on one provided with a sensor (7) Weighing device (8).
- the weighing device (8) is with a metering control (9) connected to a metering device (10) for the companion controls.
- the dosing control (9) is in addition to a device (11) for detecting a Casting capacity connected.
- the Zulegieren of the companion for example, in a Gutter between a smelting furnace and a holding furnace respectively. It is also possible that Zulegieren in one bottom sump or in a pouring trough. About that It is also thought that alloying in the upper Swamp or in the holding furnace itself. Also It is conceivable copper with a share of the chosen companion already in the smelting furnace. The supply of the For example, copper with companion content can be used as a breaker done in a cut form. Another embodiment is the alloy directly in one Melting jet over the bath in the mold or in the Perform the pouring nozzle yourself.
- the companion in pure form or in the form of a prealloy.
- Master alloy can, for example, copper with a share of the companion in the range of 10% to 50%.
- the companion or the pre-alloy will be in lumpy or fine-grained form. Has proven in particular an addition with spherical particles. alternative may also be a supply of alloy wire or ingots respectively.
- a volume throughput the melt at the location of the alloy continuously determine. Due to the present measured values, the dosing control (9) determine a mass balance and the required Determine the dosage.
- Preferred is a continuous Feeding the companion, providing a adequate mixing of the materials before solidification but is also a discontinuous feeding of the companion possible.
- a further improvement in the uniformity of the share of the companion along the wire length can be achieved be that continuously or at least discontinuously an actual content of the alloying element in the solidified wire is determined. This can be done for example spectrometrically. According to a simplified process variant is the content of the alloying element before solidification of the Wire in the melt determined by probes.
- Another advantage of the smaller grain structures is in that in a cold forming on a surface of the Forming less distinct flow figures arise.
- the shares of the companion also lead to an enlarged Corrosion resistance.
- the recrystallization temperature increased by about 80 to 100 ° C. This leads to both a high conductivity than also to an increased heat resistance.
