  • EP 0 489 105 B1 discloses a process for cold deep drawing of metal sheets in which the sheet to be deep drawn and / or the deep drawing tool is treated with an aqueous solution of an inorganic alkali metal phosphate and then deep drawn in the presence of a deep drawing oil.
  • the salt deposited on the sheet forms a soap under the pressure and temperature conditions of deep-drawing by reaction with the deep-drawing oil, which causes a reduction in the coefficient of friction.
  • a disadvantage of the process is that the alkali metal phosphate used and the soaps formed cannot be completely removed from the sheet after the deep-drawing process.
