Definitions

  • the invention relates to a paint chamber, comprising two doctor strips, to each of which a doctor blade is fastened, wherein between the edges of the doctor plates an opening is formed, is transferred by the color from the ink chamber to a ink transfer roller.
  • Such paint chambers are well known in the art and are used to apply ink from this inking chamber to an anilox roll or generally to a color transfer roll of a printing press.
  • the ink transfer roller is located at the two respective edges of the two doctor plates under a bias, which is formed by the rotation of the ink transfer roller on the doctor blade forming a working doctor blade a rotating ink roller and ink color is transferred from the ink roller to the ink transfer roller.
  • the (squeegee) blade opposite the working squeegee blade substantially serves to seal the opening of a paint chamber with respect to the ink transfer roller when the ink transfer roller is stationary, ie. when the color in the ink chamber is completely dispersed in the ink chamber.
  • a paint chamber comprising two doctor strips, to each of which a doctor blade is fastened, wherein between the edges of the doctor plates an opening is formed, is transferable by the color from the ink chamber to a ink transfer roller and wherein the opening by a relative movement of the doctor blades to each other can be closed, wherein the ink chamber has two side elements between which the doctor strips are arranged.
  • the object of the invention is to provide an improved ink chamber of the generic type, which allows a quick and easy replacement, without any, remaining in the ink chamber ink quantities can drain into the printing press.
  • This object is achieved in that the opening which is formed in the ink chamber between the edges of the doctor plates, by a relative movement of the doctor strips is closed to each other.
  • the two squeegee bars are movable relative to each other, wherein a doctor bar is fixed and the other doctor bar is movable relative thereto.
  • this relative mobility to each other is achieved, as it were, that the squeegee blades attached to the doctor blade follow this movement immediately.
  • the opening between the edges of the doctor plates is closed by a translational movement of a doctor bar.
  • At least one doctor bar is rotatable about an axis of rotation extending in the longitudinal direction of the ink chamber, this axis of rotation being spaced from an edge of a doctor plate.
  • a radius is accordingly defined, on which the edge of the doctor blade moves around the axis of rotation on a circular path, said circular path can be formed by appropriate selection of the position of the axis of rotation such that the Initially, the opening between the edges of the doctor blades is reduced in size until it is completely closed when the doctor blades touch each other.
  • This simultaneous rotation of a doctor bar and the lowering of the Ink chamber may preferably be realized by a mechanism over which both movements are performed synchronized, so that the tightness of the ink chamber is ensured relative to the ink transfer roller for the entire duration of movement of the doctor bar until the opening between the doctor plates is completely closed.
  • This mechanism can be realized for example by levers and / or a gear.
  • a particularly simple construction of a color chamber according to the invention for enabling such a translational movement e.g. a movably arranged squeegee bar relative to a fixed squeegee bar results, for example, in that a paint chamber has two side elements, between which the respective squeegee bars are arranged, one squeegee bar fixed and another squeegee bar slidably connected to the side elements.
  • a paint chamber essentially results in the manner of a frame-shaped element, the two doctoring strips forming two substantially parallel longitudinal frame elements and the two side elements forming two short frame elements.
  • Such a displaceable arrangement can be realized, for example, in that a respective guide mechanism is formed between the ends of the displaceable doctor bar and the side elements.
  • a guide mechanism is formed between the ends of the displaceable doctor bar and the side elements.
  • a guide mechanism is designed in a particularly simple and robust construction such that the displaceable doctor bar has at its ends facing the side elements at least one guide pin which rests in at least one guide slot, which in each case formed in a side member is.
  • the respective end of the movable doctor bar not only a guide pin, but two or more guide pins are provided to prevent the doctor bar twisted in a translational movement about the guide pin.
  • the translation path of the displaceable doctor bar is defined by the course of a guide slot within the respective side element.
  • the guide slot has a course deviating from a straight course, in particular represents a curve curved in itself, which simulates, for example, the course of the lateral surface curvature of the ink transfer roller.
  • the guide slots may be formed in the side members such that upon displacement of the displaceable doctor bar, either the edge of the displaced doctor blade directly on the edge of the fixed doctor blade sets or in a more preferred embodiment, the edge of a doctor blade, in particular the shifted doctor blade on the surface of the other doctor blade, in particular the fixed doctor blade, hangs up.
  • a particularly good tightness of the ink chamber is achieved because the end face of the edge of the displaceable doctor blade can be pressed with a sufficiently large force on the surface of the other doctor blade.
  • a corresponding sealing device is arranged on each side member ,
  • a closing element which seals the ink chamber laterally against leaking paint
  • a closure element which applies to the one hand to the lateral surface of the ink transfer roller and on the other hand to the upper surface of at least one doctor blade preferably both doctor plates invests.
  • the gasket in conjunction with the closure element, can have a lateral, Forming sealing wall area, which prevents the paint leaking laterally from the ink chamber.
  • this seal can be designed such that it yields to the movement of a doctor blade sealing, so that the contact of the Seal is maintained with the upper surface of the moving doctor blade during the entire, in particular translational movement of the doctor blade.
  • FIG. 1 shows a perspective view of a paint chamber 1 according to the invention, which is formed in the present construction substantially of two side members 2, between which two doctor strips 3 and 4 extend, which are arranged substantially parallel to each other.
  • ends of the two doctor strips 3 and 4 are mounted by means of corresponding terminal strips 3a and 4a on the doctor blades 3 and 4 doctor plates 6 and 5 such that in a known manner between the two doctor plates a large, is formed obtuse angle.
  • the two side members 2 and the corresponding, arranged on the doctoring strips 3 and 4 doctor blades 5 and 6 thus results in a cavity 7 for receiving color, through the opening 8 between the two edges of the doctor blades. 5 and 6 can be transferred to a color transfer roller, not shown.
  • FIG. 3 shows a side sectional view of the arrangement of a closing element 9 on a side member 2, in which the lateral ends of the doctor plates 5 and 6 einine.
  • a seal 10 is furthermore arranged, which has a stationary part 10a and an approximately finger-shaped part 10b extending therefrom.
  • This seal 10 abuts with its lateral region on the rear wall 9a of the closing element 9 and at the same time with its lower portions on both the upper surfaces of the respective doctor plates 5 and 6 and on the lateral surface of the ink transfer roller, not shown. This results in a total lateral tightness of the ink chamber system.
  • the formation of the closing element 9 and in particular also of the side element 2 is in the FIG. 4 shown in more detail in detail.
  • the squeegee strip 3 with the associated squeegee plate 6 fixed and immovable, for example by screwing, is fixed. Accordingly, the overall arrangement of the two side elements 2 and the squeegee strip 3 forms a rigid, substantially U-shaped profile, in which the two facing in the ink chamber 1 surfaces of the side elements, the two legs form, between which the movable doctor bar 4 is slidably disposed with the associated doctor blade 5.
  • This displaceability is e rreicht in this exemplary embodiment, that in the respective lateral end faces of the squeegee 4, two guide pins are used, which are not shown in the figures, these two guide pins in the recognizable elongated groove 11 of a side element 2 einre.
  • the movable squeegee 4 can be moved together with the doctor blade 5 attached thereto in the direction of the arrow 20 on the fixed squeegee 3 in translation, resulting in the exact trajectory through the course of the guide pins within the elongated guide slot 11.
  • the guide slot 11 is slightly curved, this bend at least partially traces the course of the lateral surface of the ink transfer roller, not shown, so that the edge of the doctor blade 5 in the translation of the squeegee 4 in the guide slot 11 does not stand out from this lateral surface or a exerts impermissible force on the ink transfer roller, and thus the tightness of the ink chamber with respect to the ink transfer roller during the closing operation of the opening 8 is ensured.
  • the finger-shaped portion 10b of the seal 10 will yield to the pressure of the doctor blade 5, but in this case remain in contact due to its elasticity and optionally additionally acting spring bias with the upper surface of the doctor blade 5, so that a color leakage in the side area is avoided ,
  • a holder 12 is provided for a movable locking pin 13 on the top of the squeegee 4 in the respective end, wherein manually or automatically, an operator can move the locking pin 13 in the holder 12 such that one end of the locking pin in a designated hole on a Retaining element 14 engages on the side member 2 so as to fix the ink chamber in its working position.
  • the distance between the two doctor blades 3 and 4 is preferably selected perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the ink chamber such that the two doctor strips 3 and 4 can be overlapped with the fingers of the hand of a person operating, so that by a closing movement of the hand in the direction of a fist two doctoring bars are pushed towards each other.
  • this movement can be performed by a suitable mechanism, which ensures a parallel displacement of the squeegee 4 in the direction of the squeegee 3, by means of a lever by hand, pneumatic or motor, which additionally has the advantage of a possible tilting of the sliding squeegee in the lateral guides too prevent.
  • pneumatic or motor which additionally has the advantage of a possible tilting of the sliding squeegee in the lateral guides too prevent.
  • the locking pin 13 can be moved in the holder 12 such that it engages with a second bore 15 in the retaining element 14 which is associated with the closed position. Upon engagement of the end of the locking pin 13 in this bore 15 accidental displacement of the squeegee 4 relative to the squeegee 3 in the closed state of the ink chamber 1 is avoided, so that the ink chamber 1 forms a secure closed unit.
  • Such a recess 16 may be formed, for example, by a groove 16 extending in the longitudinal direction of the ink chamber 1 in one or both doctor rails 3,4.
  • this groove 16 may be arranged in those doctor bar 3, which is associated with the so-called closing squeegee of the ink chamber 1, so that the rotating ink roller unrolls during operation of the ink chamber 1 on the opposite squeegee 4.
  • a reverse arrangement is possible.
