Definitions
- the invention relates to a fuel pump according to the preamble of claim 1.
- a fuel pump for example, known as a radial piston pump.
- a central eccentric shaft is mounted in a housing.
- a lifting ring is placed on an eccentric portion of the eccentric shaft.
- the sliding blocks are connected to a cylindrical piston which defines a working space with its end opposite the eccentric shaft. The piston is acted upon by a compression spring against the shoe or the flat surface of the cam ring.
- the compression spring is supported on an end portion of the piston, which has a significantly larger diameter than the shaft of the piston.
- the end portion and the piston skirt are in one piece and, for example, unscrewed from the solid.
- To guide the compression spring and the voltage reduction in the transition areas between the piston skirt and the end portion it is necessary to provide punctures and heels with different diameters. This leads, especially in conjunction with the associated large differences in diameter to a complex machining, which has a detrimental effect on the cost of manufacturing the fuel pump.
- the WO 99/45271 discloses a fuel pump having a separate from the piston support member on which the biasing member is supported and which is connected to the piston.
- the present invention has the object, a fuel pump of the type mentioned in such a way that it can be produced more cheaply.
- the piston of the fuel pump is much simpler. In the simplest case, it can consist of a simple straight cylinder, which has no change in diameter. A complex machining of the piston is thus not required, which significantly reduces the cost of the fuel pump according to the invention.
- the support of the biasing element usually a compression spring, which acts on the piston against the eccentric or camshaft takes place in the fuel pump according to the invention via a separate support element which is fixedly connected to the piston.
- the connection of the support member with the piston can be done in different ways: It is possible, for example, a pressing, a shrinking, welding, gluing and other, still running in more detail below mounting variants. Although an additional step is required for the attachment of the support member on the piston, but this is cheaper than the o. G. Machining the piston.
- a support member in the form of a support ring is very easy to manufacture, which also benefits the cost of the fuel pump.
- the support element is in two parts and comprises a support ring connected to the end region of the piston and an intermediate element pushed onto the piston between the prestressing element and the support ring.
- This makes it possible to choose such a material for the support ring, which can be optimally secured to the piston.
- a material can be selected which can be shaped in a simple manner so that the biasing element is optimally held and guided. This development thus additionally increases the reliability of the fuel pump according to the invention.
- the support element bears with a portion of a retaining ring, which is partially received in a groove in the eccentric or camshaft end facing the piston.
- the fuel pump comprises a guide sleeve which is movable with the piston and which cooperates with a housing-fixed guide section.
- a fuel pump configured in this way therefore operates with high efficiency.
- Such a fuel pump can be produced cost-effectively, in particular if the support element is integral with the guide sleeve.
- the support member may also include a radially inwardly directed annular collar which is supported on a radially outwardly directed annular collar of the piston.
- the support element is thus pressed by the biasing member with its annular collar against the corresponding annular collar of the piston.
- the thus created connection of the support member with the piston allows a safe return of the piston after a compression stroke, without Transverse forces are introduced from the support member into the piston. This is particularly advantageous if the support element is integral with the guide sleeve.
- the fuel pump comprises a base part which rests on the eccentric or camshaft facing end face of the piston.
- a base also makes it possible to make the piston of a material which is optimal for its function as a compression punch.
- the base part of a material, which can absorb the relative movements, which occur by the rotation of the cam or eccentric shaft relative to the piston, without being subject to excessive wear.
- the friction forces between the base part and the eccentric or camshaft can be reduced by appropriate material pairings, resulting in lower lateral forces.
- the guide sleeve has a radially inwardly directed annular collar which projects into an annular space lying between the support element and the base part.
- the base part has a raised portion which covers the support member axially in some areas, and the support member is fixedly connected to the base part over the raised portion.
- a base part is thus cup-shaped and is formed by the raised portion relative to the Support element automatically centered during assembly.
- the attachment of the base part on the support element can, for example, via a locking ring, which is inserted in grooves on the one hand in the lateral surface of the support member and on the other hand in the lateral surface of the raised portion.
- the support element has at least one bend, which surrounds the base part from the outside and holds axially. Such a bend is easy to manufacture and facilitates the overall assembly of the fuel pump, since the base member is captively connected to the support member.
- Fig. 1 This is a radial piston pump with three cylinders 12a, 12b and 12c, wherein in the following only the components of the cylinder 12a will be explained in detail.
- cylinder 12a In the drawing, only those components of the cylinder 12a are provided with reference numerals.
- the components of the cylinders 12b and 12c are identical to those of the cylinder 12a.
- the radial piston pump 10 comprises a housing 14. In a bore (without reference numeral), a piston 16 is received axially displaceable. The piston 16 is limited with his in Fig. 1 an inlet valve 20 may connect the working space 18 with a fuel line, not shown. An exhaust valve, also not shown, can connect the working space 18 to a fuel line and further to a high-pressure rail ("rail").
- an eccentric shaft is mounted with an eccentric portion 22.
- a cam ring 24 is placed, which in the region of the individual cylinders 12a - 12c each have a plane worked contact surface 26.
- a designed as a sliding shoe base 28 is indirectly and even closer To be displayed manner acted upon by a compression spring 30 against the contact surface 26.
- the compression spring 30 is received in an annular space 32 of the housing 14. This is bounded radially inward by a pipe section-like guide section 34.
- the piston 16 is axially slidably and fluid-tightly received.
- the piston 16 has an end region 36 facing the eccentric section 22 or the cam ring 24, which has a larger diameter than the remaining piston 16.
- the end region 36 is partially received in a complementary recess 38 in the base part 28.
- an annular disk-shaped support member 40 At a formed between the piston skirt 39 and the end portion 36 of the piston 16 paragraph 41 is an annular disk-shaped support member 40 at.
- the support member 40 has a radially inwardly extending holding portion 42 and an axially extending guide portion 44. Through these two portions 42 and 44, the support member 40 is centered with respect to the longitudinal axis of the piston 16.
- the support member 40 In its radially outer region, the support member 40 has a circumferentially extending and "open” in the axial direction groove-like recess 46 in which the in Fig. 2 bottom end of the compression spring 30 is received. In this way, the compression spring 30 is radially centered. At its radially outer edge, the support member 40 distributed over its circumference on a plurality of hook-like bends 48, which surround a shoulder 50 which is formed on the outer circumferential surface of the base member 28, with some play. In this way, the base part 28 is held axially on the piston 16.
- the radial piston pump 10 operates as follows: By a Rotation of the eccentric shaft with the eccentric portion 22, the center of the cam ring 24 moves along a circular path. The contact surfaces 26 of the cam ring 24 thereby move on the one hand in the axial direction of the respective cylinder 12 and also laterally to the longitudinal axis of the respective cylinder 12. By the axial movement of the contact surfaces 26 and the restoring force of the compression spring 30, the piston 16 via the base member 28 in a offset axial reciprocation. As a result, fuel is either sucked into the working space 18, or the fuel present in the working space 18 is compressed and ejected to the fuel manifold.
- Fig. 3 is a modification of the eccentric portion 22 facing portion of the piston 16 is shown.
- carry such elements and areas, which equivalent functions to those in the FIGS. 1 and'2 have shown embodiment, the same reference numerals. They are not explained again in detail.
- the support member 40 is formed in two parts. It comprises a support ring 52 which is pressed onto the piston 16. In this way, the support ring 52 is fixed axially immovably on the piston 16. In Fig. 3 From above, an intermediate element 54 is pushed onto the piston 16, which is centered with a holding portion 42 and a guide portion 44 relative to the support ring 52.
- cup guide This comprises a cup-shaped guide member 56 which abuts with the outside of a bottom 58 on the contact surface 26 of the cam ring 24.
- the end portion 36 of the piston 16 is supported on the inside of the bottom 58 of the cup-shaped guide member 56.
- a peripheral wall 60 of the cup-shaped guide part 56 is guided with its outer side in a guide portion 62 of the housing 14. The introduced from the contact surface 26 during operation of the radial piston pump 10 in the bottom 58 of the cup-shaped guide member 56 lateral forces are thus derived via the peripheral wall 60 directly into the guide portion 62 of the housing 14.
- the piston 16 remains free of lateral force.
- the support element is in Fig. 4 formed as a one-piece support ring 40 which is pressed onto the piston 16.
- the end portion 36 of the piston 16 has no changes in diameter.
- the support member 40 in turn in two parts a support ring 52, which is pressed onto the piston 16, and an intermediate element 54.
- the end portion 36 of the piston 16 again has a larger diameter than the shaft 39 of the piston 16 and thus forms a radially outwardly directed annular collar 64.
- This annular collar 64 is on the one hand between a radially inwardly directed annular collar 66 of a guide sleeve 68 and a guided on the end face of the piston 16 base member 28 axially.
- the base part 28 has at its radially outer edge on a circumferential raised portion 70, which covers the guide sleeve 68 in the axial direction in some areas. How out Fig. 7 can be seen, on the one hand on the inside of the raised portion 70 has a circumferential groove 72 and on the other hand on the outside of the guide sleeve 68, a circumferential groove 74 is present. A locking ring 76 is accommodated on the one hand in the groove 72 and on the other hand in the groove 74, so that the guide sleeve 68 and the base part 28 are firmly connected to each other.
- the guide sleeve 68 is slidably guided on a guide portion 62 of the housing 14 in the axial direction.
- transverse forces which are introduced via the contact surface 26 of the cam ring 24 in the base part 28, introduced via the guide sleeve 68 in the guide portion 62 of the housing 14.
- the guide portion 62 is part of a socket 14 a, which is shrunk into a housing portion 14 b.
- the guide sleeve 68 has a radially outwardly directed annular collar 44, on which the compression spring 30 is supported. In this way, the piston 16 is indirectly acted upon by the restoring force of the compression spring 30.
- the guide sleeve 68 thus also forms the support element 40 at the same time.
- FIG. 8 Yet another embodiment is in Fig. 8 shown.
- the end portion 36 of the piston 16 again has the same diameter as the shaft 39 of the piston 16.
- the support member 40 is formed as a support ring, the holding portion 42 rests against a retaining ring 78 in a circumferential groove (without reference numerals) in the end portion 36th of the piston 16 is located.
- transverse forces are again kept away from the piston 16 by a guide sleeve 68 cooperates with a guide portion 62 of the housing 14.
- the base part 28 has an in Fig. 8 upper section 80 of smaller diameter and one in Fig. 8 lower portion 82 of larger diameter.
- the upper side of the portion 80 of the base part 28 abuts against the end face of the piston 16 facing it.
- annular space 84 is present, in which a radially inwardly directed annular collar 66 of the guide sleeve 68 protrudes.
- the radially outer edge of the portion 82 of the base member 28 abuts against the inner wall of the guide sleeve 68. In this way, lateral forces are also kept away from the piston 16 here.
- a roller 86 available. Through these, the lateral forces are minimized again.
Description

- In
Fig. 1 trägt eine Kraftstoffpumpe insgesamt das Bezugszeichen 10.
Fig. 1 oberen Stirnfläche einen Arbeitsraum 18.
Fig. 2 untere Ende der Druckfeder 30 aufgenommen ist.
- In
Fig. 8 dargestellt.
