Definitions

  • the invention relates to a door module for a vehicle door with a door lock and an outer door handle.
  • Such a door module is known for example from EP 0 257 608 A2.
  • the door module consists of a U-shaped module carrier, the first leg of which is firmly connected to the bracket of the outer door handle and the end face of which is connected to the door lock.
  • the module carrier is connected to the vehicle door via its second leg, as well as the door lock and the bracket.
  • a disadvantage of this known door module among other things, that its installation in a corresponding vehicle door is extremely time-consuming, because due to the relatively large tolerance differences between the components to be connected to the vehicle door, this is often only possible if the door lock and the bracket are initially only loosely attached pre-assembled to the module carrier and only firmly connected to the module carrier after they have been attached to the vehicle door.
  • Such a complex installation also requires that the door interior remains accessible from the inner door side even after the module carrier has been installed. Furthermore, this fastening often results in tensioning of the components and the occurrence of non-axial forces in the wall areas of the vehicle doors.
  • a door module for a vehicle door which comprises an approximately L-shaped module carrier, the first leg of which is firmly connected to the door lock and the second leg of which is connected to the bracket of a flap handle. Since the door lock is attached to the front shell of the vehicle door and the bracket must be connected to the outer door skin, the assembly of this known door module is again relatively time consuming due to the tolerance problems described above.
  • the invention has for its object to provide a door module with a module carrier and attached door lock and bearing bracket, which can be quickly and easily connected to the vehicle door.
  • the invention is essentially based on the idea of attaching the bearing bracket of the outer door handle to the second leg of the module carrier connected to the door lock, preferably movably in all directions, on all sides. This results in a preassembled unit in which, even after the door lock has been attached to the front of the vehicle door, the bearing bracket can still be moved laterally to take account of the tolerances which are always present.
  • the door module can also be used for vehicle doors with different installation spaces.
  • the electrical lines coming from the door lock, from the door handle or from another electrical or electronic unit arranged on the module carrier can then advantageously be integrated into the extension made of plastic and e.g. to the contacts of a connector housing also connected to the module carrier.
  • the movable arrangement of the bearing bracket on the second leg of the module carrier can be realized in different ways. It has proven to be particularly advantageous proven if the second leg consists of, for example, a plate-shaped carrier and two flexibly designed holding arms directed towards the carrier towards the bearing bracket, with which the bearing bracket is connected via additional connecting parts and which can be moved laterally as well as in terms of their height.
  • Another possibility of arranging the bearing bracket movably is to select the connecting parts between the support arms of the carrier and the bearing bracket accordingly. This can be done on the one hand through the choice of material (e.g. through a relatively soft plastic that allows the bearing bracket to be moved accordingly) or through the design and type of connection to the bearing bracket.

  • This arrangement ensures that when the door module 1 is mounted on the vehicle door 2, the relatively heavy bearing bracket 10 is not pressed too far by its weight in the direction of the carrier 12 of the second leg, since the second holding arm generally does not have this force is able to absorb completely.

It is important that the end of the casing of the Bowden cable in the region of the deflection lever 30 is either attached to a corresponding receptacle of the bearing bracket or, as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, to a receptacle 38 of the connecting part 19. This ensures that there is no change in the distance between the ends of the soul and the casing of the Bowden cable and the mutual when installing in the door Pivotal position of lever 30 and lock lever 32 does not change.
  • the module carrier (lock plate) is first inserted into the interior of the vehicle door through an opening in the inside wall of the door and screwed to the front side 3 of the vehicle door 2. Then the mounting bracket 10 is then attached to the outer door wall 5, the mounting bracket 10 being moved either from the inside of the door or through a corresponding opening in the outer door wall 5 (for example for the handle part) into its mounting position and then fastened by means of appropriate screws (not shown) ,
  • threaded bores 35 (FIG. 1) are provided, into which corresponding screws are screwed in from the outside of the outer door wall 5. The holes are countersunk and are used to center the bearing bracket on the outer skin of the door.
  • the invention is of course not limited to the embodiment described above.
  • the second leg does not necessarily have to be a plate-shaped carrier, but it is also conceivable that the carrier has, for example, a rod-shaped structure.
  • the second leg can only be a lateral extension of the lock housing, which can consist of both metal and plastic.
  • the first leg is an integral part of the lock housing.
