Abstract

L'invention concerne un élément détecteur destiné à déterminer la concentration de composants de mélanges gazeux, en particulier dans des gaz d'échappement de moteurs à combustion interne, comprenant au moins une chambre pour le gaz à mesurer (13) et au moins un orifice d'entrée du gaz, grâce auquel le mélange gazeux peut alimenter ladite chambre (13), ainsi qu'au moins une barrière de diffusion (12) agencée entre l'orifice d'entrée (17) et la chambre de gaz à mesurer (13). La barrière de diffusion (12) présente au moins une zone (14, 14a, 16) contenant un matériau à activité catalytique en vue d'établir l'équilibre dans le mélange gazeux et subdivisée en une section poreuse grossière et une section poreuse fine.
